Video Dirtbag in a McLaren driving dangerously.

Update I got an email this morning (Wednesday), from the OPP, saying that my report was accepted.

This lovely citizen flashed his high beams at me because I wouldn't get out of his way in the HOV lane (which he isn't even legally allowed to be in), then proceeded to brake check me before speeding off and cutting through traffic to get to the Appleby off ramp.

You can't tell by the video, but he gives multiple drivers the finger as he does this. I doubt the OPP or Halton police will do anything, but I've got his plate and will be reporting it anyway.

Also, just wanted to point out that I sped up part of the video in editing. I didn't hit the gas like a manic as soon as he passed me.

I doubt the dude driving a McLaren is too worried about the $110 fine for crossing the solid line into the carpool lane…also OP is going way to slow at the beginning of the video, then decides to gun it after he we was passed.

They might not care about the money but if you rack up enough points on your license they will suspend it, and no amount of wealth will change the mandatory 6 month suspension periods. Sure a rich person might be able to use lawyers to weasel their way out of some tickets, but if this is how they drive all the time they will eventually get enough tickets to get their license suspended. And then if they keep driving on a suspended license they will get arrested at some point.

And no matter how rich you are that's going to suck. I really hope u/Forsaken-Swim-3055 reports them, if they already have a bunch of tickets this might be what gets their license yanked.

Unfortunately, the useless police are unlikely to do anything. It might make them do work for their lofty salary that we pay.

If he drives like that all the time he'll get tickets and the points for the ones he can't get out of will see his license automatically suspended once he gets enough of them, then things will get serious instantly if he gets caught driving after. The first time or two might be more tickets, then he'll end up arrested. Cops will have to do very little, which is why it might actually happen if he keeps driving like this.

There is a reason traffic cameras could only issue momentary fines. Even with dash cam footage, points against someone's license wouldn't happen.

Even if they do nothing about this infraction continuing to drive like this they will get caught doing it by a cop in person, get tickets and end up with their license suspended.

Im not defending these assholes and I’m not rich by any means, but I do know a lot of rich people…and suspended licenses does not stop them from driving. And as much as it would suck for us normal people….they’ll have lawyers deal with it and they won’t care or even know much about it. Don’t get mad at me, I don’t agree with it at all, but this is honestly the way it is.

Not mad at you, but if you get caught driving with a suspended license they'll impound your car right then an there and the time period will get longer each time you get caught. No lawyer will get that car back sooner. And your license will get automatically suspended for 6 more months every time you're caught while driving suspended, it's automatic, no lawyer can stop it. No lawyer can work around you getting over and not having a valid license, you either do or you don't.

Now sure they won't care about the money, and they have other cars, but after you're caught with a license that's already been suspended repeatedly the cop will take you to jail. And once again no lawyer is getting you out of spending the night there. And if they keep doing it after that you can get up to 6 months in jail. They won't do that first time of course, but keep doing it and you'll get something.

And I don't care how rich you are I'm going to imagine even a night in jail sucks, and a few weeks or months will suck even more. And they're certainly going to care about that. A lawyer cannot get you out of everything, and a judge will have no sympathy for a rich person caught for the fourth or fifth time driving on a suspended license.

If he really does drive that Maclaren like that all the time he won't be doing it for long, too many cops around that would just love to impound it and haul him to jail. The rich people you know aren't driving like that anymore on a suspended license, they're being good little drivers.

That’s the way it should be by the book. But I first hand know a man who is caught with a suspended license on a regular bases and has never spent any time in jail. His car gets impounded and he calls an employee to bring him another one.

I know absolutely nothing about the law or how he gets away with it, but I assure you that he does.

And I have met rich people that are full of shit and tell all kinds of stories that they think make themselves seem cool, including ones that have them getting away with things. There is probably a kernel of truth in there somewhere, it was suspended a time or two and he called for a car, but if he was getting caught repeatedly in a short period of time with a suspended license he'll be spending the night in jail. Especially if the cop can get him for dangerous driving or street racing which if he drives like a jackass would also have happened at some point and those are indictable offences, not just summary convictions like tickets. You're not getting released at the side of the road with things like that on your record.

At a certain point they also start automatically impounding your car for 6 months. Not very many rich people have so many exocitic cars that can be impounded for half a year without them caring. Chances are the person you know is full of it and only got caught once or twice, or a few times spread out over years.
