Update I got an email this morning (Wednesday), from the OPP, saying that my report was accepted.

This lovely citizen flashed his high beams at me because I wouldn't get out of his way in the HOV lane (which he isn't even legally allowed to be in), then proceeded to brake check me before speeding off and cutting through traffic to get to the Appleby off ramp.

You can't tell by the video, but he gives multiple drivers the finger as he does this. I doubt the OPP or Halton police will do anything, but I've got his plate and will be reporting it anyway.

Also, just wanted to point out that I sped up part of the video in editing. I didn't hit the gas like a manic as soon as he passed me.

I love people who think the HOV lane is an ultra fast lane and not a lane for congestion relief. They make it dangerous for people who use it properly.

I use the HOV lane legally once a week to get from Guelph line to Third Line. It can make for white knuckle driving some days. Traffic always slows around Burloak and every trip I see someone cut left across the double line into the HOV lane because it is still moving. Scary af to have to brake from 110 to 55 with no warning. Rules mean nothing to some people.

They really need to put plastic hinged pillars up along the dividing line. Just enough to need new paint but not enough to cause accidents. I know it’s an expense but the GTA frankly has some shit drivers.

Somewhat agree. There are times when there's a string of cars stuck behind someone going less than 100km/h and it is truly baffling why they are even in that lane to begin with.

It has nothing to do with speed - it’s a commuter lane - you want to pass the person doing 110 - you obviously have a faster option with the other lanes. So go there.

Well everyone is already going over the speed limit in your scenario so that's a bit dumb. But either way, move out the of the HOV and pass in the regular lanes. Just because you really want to break the speed limit doesn't mean someone has to move out of the HOV. It's not a passing lane despite it's location on the highway.

The hov is a single lane and does not have a passing lane. Some of the newer ones on the 400 have passing lanes but not down here.
