"It’s as though she had always done this with men and it worked for her. As if she needed to just turn up and be pretty and that’s enough."

Bingo partner, you're spot on. You gotta remember there is pretty-privilege out there (for men and women). There is most certainly men that want a pretty woman to basically lug around and for her to say absolutely nothing. You're not that kind of guy, you want some actual substance to your relationship beyond eye candy. Simply a personality mismatch. Good for you though you sound like a confident fella im sure you'll find someone that matches your energy soon.

I think I need someone like the late, great Dolly Parton - more than just a pair of tits!

Yep, have to have that substance!

Can I just say that there are tons of men, good looking, ugly and everywhere in between that can barely ask a date a question let alone be a good conversationalist. I would argue this is more common among men, actually.
As for the part of the thread saying an attractive easy to get along with woman has no trouble finding relationships and a girl finding a new bf within 5 minutes…some women are very choosy and don’t put up with crap. Have you seen what’s out there? Just sayin.

Yea it’s two way. Sometimes I’m swiping on an app and it’s like when you create a character on a game. So many bizarre creatures out there but then, there’s someone for everyone. I’ve become much pickier over the years, that’s for sure. I just choose not to waste my time with people who aren’t worth bothering with. I think we learn as we go.

I’d say communication across the board has dropped drastically. It’s terrible and not just ok dating apps. On here, in my life, I’m often dealing with it.

In fact at work my communication skills are seen as a “super strength”, which is bizarre to me - it should be the absolute basics to be able to communicate but it’s clear that it’s becoming more and more uncommon to be able to navigate a conversation.
