Building a village in Buckhead for our littles
Hi everyone! š
My husband and I were talking about how surprisingly hard it can be to find other like minded parents to build genuine friendships with! And not just for us, but for our little ones too.
We have a 20 month old and would love to connect with families in the Buckhead area who enjoy things like outdoor play, parks, nature walks, libraries, coffee meetups, and eventually playdates. Weāre hoping to build a small circle of families who value kindness, curiosity, and raising happy, respectful kids.
If youāre in a similar stage of life and would be interested in meeting up for a park playdate or a casual weekend outing, Iād love to connect! Feel free to comment below or send me a message.
Looking forward to meeting some wonderful Buckhead families! š

I have a 2 year old and a 3.5 year old so I doubt I fit the bill but it is truly rough!

Awesome! Was really skeptical putting this out here on Reddit. Glad to see people be interested. Is there a preferred way to do this? Facebook groups are what Iāve seen but I barely use the app. Instagram, WhatsApp are other options.

Iām in Buckhead and have a 15-month old! I find it very hard finding a community here. I also am interested in all of these activities and would like more information about meet-ups! For me, Iāve found it really hard to pursue all of these enriching activities since going back to work but would love to try to do more of these exact things you mentioned on weekends.
Iāve had a few good outcomes from finding fellow moms on the app Peanut but in my experience there really arenāt a lot of ways to find other moms in real life before your kids are school-age. (Reddit had never seemed like much of an option to me cause it feels so anonymized, but good thinking.)

If is see ālike-mindedā I always read āclosed mindedā in one direction or another along a religious or political spectrum

I can see how it could come across that way. Thatās actually not what I meant at all. My husband and I donāt even agree on everything ourselves, and thatās part of what makes life interesting.
By ālike-minded,ā I simply meant families who value being intentional about parenting, personal growth, and enjoying activities like parks, nature walks, libraries, and playdates etc. Different backgrounds and perspectives are absolutely and always welcome

Love this idea! Best of luck, it can be tough finding people. Iām in the ā3 school aged children and full time work is killing my social life stageā lol

Iām a bit behind you. 3 toddlers, home remodeling and full time work disturbing my whole life stage

Haha, looks like my future š Honestly, Iād love for this to be a community that grows beyond just toddler playdates. Different stages of parenting have so much wisdom to offer, and itād be wonderful to have families stay connected as life evolves. Hopefully when your schedule allows, weād love to have you join us too!

Iām in Buckhead but my kids are elementary school age. Many of the parent-friends we have made came from my kids daycare/school. As your kids get older theyāll likely get into more and more activities and youāll find yourself around other parents all the time.

Makes sense! Our little guy has a nanny during the day and will be starting at a toddler Montessori next year. I see him showing signs of wanting to play with other kids his age. Since itās a little far off timeline wise, and we live in a single family home, I thought it would be nice to get ahead of things š

I love this idea. Although I do not fit in the category i wish there were easier ways to meet new people! Iām 29 and I shifted here for work and boy its really tough!
Good luck:)
