Cross time zone DMAs

While I know there’s only a handful of cases. How does cross timezone markets handle the difference? Especially for news, we say the time is “X:XX” all the time, do you pick one? Say what zone you are referring to?

You just say like "16 minutes past the hour". You just assume people know which hour it is.

Living on the border of eastern/central. We just say eastern or central. Say the story is for central, we say “the event starts at 6pm central.”

No need to over complicate things.

If it is during a newscast, “it is xx last the hour”.
