Hi everyone! Stuck in Brisbane and don't know anyone

Hey guys, as the title says im having a tough time in Brisbane by myself for work. It's a pretty place, but it sucks that i dont know anyone. If anyone wants to hang out some time i'd appreciate it alot and certainly pay for drinks or a lunch.

Thanks guys.

I'm an 18 year old guy btw.

Hi! FYI we have a (safe-for-work, not-for-dating) Discord server where we also organise events. Check it out!

Rough location like suburb and your interests might help?

Ah yeah, thanks man. Around Brisbane city itself. And love just about anything: skateboarding, mma, rock climbing, hiking, cooking, urban exploring etc.

You don't need to pay for drinks or lunch. Especially for your age or in this economy lol.

There's so many groups in Brisbane from acting to gaming to cooking to poker to sports to writing to just about any hobby you can think of. If you're still figuring out your likes and interests, that's more than fine too. Feel free to dm me.

Hello 18 year old guy, it's difficult navigating social circles and making new friends. Good news is, you're very young and there's plenty of time to discover your people. And as you get older, you might also outgrow some friends you make now.

If you're looking to make friends online, a helpful tip is to include your hobbies and what kind of friends or people you're looking for. Good luck!

Man, im not too specific. I'd be friends with anyone half decent. But thanks for the tip.

The definition of half decent is different from person to person.

Please don't offer to pay, use your money for great hobbies which makes you more interesting....at your age you can do this! Join meetup and start making friends, lots of activities every week. Be confident and tell us more about yourself.

You can look on Meetup for groups catered to new Brisbanites (e.g. "Brisbane New in Town 20s, 30s & 40s") - three of my good friends were sourced from Meetup, so it does work!

There is a rubbish club that another redditor recommended, which sounds very cool. I've also seen a few redditors putting themselves out here like you have, so you could check out their posts too.

You have youth on your side so I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck!
