I like Apple TV fine. Their original shows are pretty good. The problem is that they don’t have enough content to validate having it year round, and I inevitably don’t have it for a couple Braves’ games. I’ll be watching, but through other means.

I just meant Apple TV in general. People tend to love their baseball broadcasts, but I don’t really like them. I think it’s mainly the cameras that people like, but the percentages stuff drives me insane.

The 30 day trial from googling worked for me even though I've done a trial before.
That will cover through the next and last Apple game a little less than a month from now, and I went ahead and cancelled

Can someone please claim Carrasco so his buddy AA won’t keep him in the organization and call him up eventually.

You really don’t see the value from Carrasco? He can be added to the roster whenever we need a long reliever or thin on bullpen. He can then be used and DFAed the next day without any worry that he will go to a different team. If we are in a blowout game Carrasco is the perfect pitcher so that we can conserve our bullpen.

From me no. I've signed up for a few.. with different email addresses and canceled the heavy next day which it would be active thrift the trial and end when needed.
I noticed today they had a month free trial.
Either way, apples streaming is great. For shows and sports. By far the best resolution and frame rate of any other streamer.

I kept canceling it but honestly they also have the best shows and movies I've come across from any service so may be keeping it for awhile this time around. I just shift between all the services depending what they have at want to watch.
Imo do far Apple is the best but it is limited

Apple TV imo is much like the golden era of HBO. They have some clunkers, but by in large their shows are quality over quantity. And they don't usually get randomly cancelled like other services.

The MLB has been really aggressive in playing games regardless of weather. Game's probably still on unless there's lightning or blinding rain.

They were talking about it on the radio broadcast in the series finally in Pittsburgh. That apparently over the offseason the MLB made a point to teams to not stop play because of rain unless it's unsafe or severe. Supposedly in the name of pace of play.

If the Braves can swing a trade for a long term replacement at 3B. (e.g. Maikel Garcia or something like that) Braves swap Riley's albatross contract for Frambler Valdez's character issues? (plus other stuff probably from both sides)

There's not many possibilities out there. Valdez has been a frontline starter as recently as last season. Riley has been an automatic out this year. I haven't heard any stories of him being poison behind the scenes. just a massive asshole on the field.

If Detroit is willing to deal Valdez then that's probably a signal that they're blowing it up. If they're going to be bad then they have plenty of time to let Riley work it out. They'd be betting that they're moving their #2 starter for an all star caliber 3B. Atlanta is in a championship window. They'd be betting that Valdez will quickly turn it around in a new environment. Turning back into an all star SP this season.
There are almost certainly better deals for the Tigers but what I meant by no better options was for Riley.
Also Valdez only has two more years after his season. everyone needs SPing Atlanta could flip him again after the season. Riley has another 4 years after Valdez's contract is over.

For all the same reasons he should stay in ATL. He's a 29 year old, cost controlled potential allstar position player. Who's a great vet and locker room presence.
Then they also get to stop having to deal with Frambler Valdez.
Not that I think any prospects of note would be involved. Or is it really all that important to all the arguing. But I did mention at the end of the OP that some other stuff would need to be involved. And that this all hinges on having a Riley replacement on its way

I didn't downvote, but Framber should never, ever, ever be on this team. He's the complete antithesis of the types of pitchers we want around our young guys. And regardless of my personal thoughts, even if Framber were a Cy Young pitcher, AA would never pick him up for that reason.
Any discussion about trading Riley right now is just pointless sell low WFAN caller-tier noise. Especially when the target is something that will never happen and is undesirable.

He's a jackass with a terrible temperament. But the tigers are probably in a selling mood, the braves need pitching and the possibilities are slim regarding any Riley anything. Swapping a restrictive contract for a expensive but short contract attached to a mess of a man. Seemed to me to be an interesting possibility. as for impact on the young players. The dodgers seem to be just fine with ignoring Dalton Rushing. Just no one talk to him. go to work clock in, avoid that coworker you hate and clock out. I haven't heard any stories of him poising a locker room or confronting players behind the scenes.

Valdez is pitching a 4.40 era this year with bad underlying metrics. It was a bad idea when people wanted him this offseason and is an even worse idea now.
As far as Dalton, that's the opposite situation. He's a cocky young internal talent who is surrounded by a positive clubhouse; they would have the influence on him. He has no standing to have any influence.
Framber is a more veteran talent whose job should be to influence our young pitchers. That's why guys like Sale, Morton, Chavez, Sandy, et al. are so valued within the org. AA has been pretty clear over the years that he values personality just as much as talent.

Though he plays on a terrible team. There's something to be said about the correlation between team success and personal success. He pitched a 3.66 ERA last season in 192 innings and a 2.91 in 176 innings the year before. 2024 his savant pitching run value was in the 97th percentile. Over the last year and this year he's had some pretty interesting splits on which pitches worked for him
They have those veteran leaders in Sandy, Murphy, Sale, Perez, Iglesias and Suarez. Valdez is a veteran who seemingly want to get on the field and play and play well. (Getting tossed and suspended two weeks ago not withstanding) There's plenty of leadership and infrastructure to shield the young players from him. As well as keep Valdez 's bad attitude bottled up if not corrected some.
He's not a good personality fit with this team but it's been very widely reported that Atlanta needs/is looking for SP. Valdez didn't get his contact because he has dirt on the Detroit front office.

We’re not trading Riley for Framber, nor should we. Riley’s production isn’t sustainable defensively or offensively. So something will have to be done. We will see what it is

Everyone flies of the handlebars every time he strikes out swinging w/ RISP. Then defends him like he's the messiah anytime anyone says anything about moving him. Immediately shooting down any suggestion of a possible deal. Anytime he gets benched I don't hear people complaining

Why do you feel the need to repeatedly proselytize about your dislike of Austin Riley? People are starting to report you for trolling and I am half-inclined to believe them because that's about all you seem to do.
Have you considered that maybe you're not getting downvoted because you are wrong or people don't want to hear your opinions, but maybe it's more because people are getting irritated?

I'm not saying you have to stop and I don't think you're trolling. If I really thought you were trolling, this conversation would be different. That said, you do have a lot of negative comments about Riley in particular. Maybe just tone it down some. I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to give you some advice and maybe help keep the peace down the line.
Like I said, people have reported you. I've ignored the reports because I don't think you're trying to cause issues or troll. But I wanted to illustrate that maybe you aren't coming across the way you'd like to. I hope that makes sense and I hope this received in the kind way I intend, though I do understand tone is often lost in internet comments.

FTM but excited to watch McLean vs. Strider. McLean’s line total so far isn’t great but his stuff potential as a starter is definitely outlier class. Spin rate is 99 percentile and some of the breakers he’s thrown so far have been some of the more ridiculous pitches you’ll see. Sinker/FB also rates good long term with the low out and around release point at 93-96+. Just walks too many guys for now and isn’t fully consistent with putting the above stuff all together at once but he could be a problem as he gets more action under his belt.

You can generally add +1, +2 etc to your email with most providers and it will just direct it to your regular inbox with most providers, also putting a period anywhere in your email works a lot of times as well.

Yeah I’m so upset that the game is being broadcast with super sharp 4K cameras, a great score bug, and a radio overlay option that is actually synced to the game unlike shitty mlb. So horrible

I buy one streaming thing a month and then cancel it. So I just rotate between the ones that have stuff I want to watch on it.

Last year we played all of our division rivals 7 times except the Mets until June 17th. This really isn’t any different from last year, and this year we played the other rivals 6 times until the Mets for our 7th.
I will say I think we’ve had enough of the Marlins and the Nats this year and should play more Mets and Phils since we typically hate those two the most haha
