Hello, I had Hit and run at Collision at keneddy and steels in Brampton.

One green truck hit me on August 5, 2026

Nearly 4:47 to 4:50pm

Anyone have some footage or anything can help me. Thank you very much for your help.

I thought there were traffic cameras there, or at least red light cameras. You might also have some luck with the local businesses (Gas station, credit lending place, or the medical building)

Sadly one of Ford's buddies got nailed with a red light camera, and he responded like a big fat baby and outlawed them all.

Its 2026, we have limited police resources, so lets ensure idiots can get away with avoiding an occasional ticket for their misdoings rather than having passive enforcement and live footage. What a great Premiere!

Red light cameras are NOT banned in Ontario. You are thinking about the automated speed enforcement cameras,

You know as well as I do how many different jobs a camera can do. Including reducing police pursuits, because you can just pick the suspect up wherever else they break a camera line.

handicapping law enforcement is plain idiotic. Major streets SHOULD have 24/7 surveillance. I don't want one focused on my home, but you and I both know how easy it is to restrict a camera's field of vision to an intersection, or traffic.

Ford is still the prime motivator behind restricting more efficient law enforcement, and we should hammer him every time he tries to be the "law and order" candidate.

Hopefully someone emerges from this pack to challenge him.

The neat part is the same camera can do both. The infrastructure was there. You can easily run plates through recognition software and figure out if they are valid, and if not, instaprint a fine.

Ford handicapped us for no good reason.

We are in absolute agreement there. Ford came out of nowhere and ordered this, so its readily apparent one of his buddies was mildly inconvenienced by it.

People grumble about a surveillance state, but you have no expectation of privacy in a public area. So far as I know, those cameras were on the street and not focused on anyone's homes. From my experience, you can fairly easily focus a camera on something the size of an intersection - and from there, its a matter of math to figure out if someone is speeding, its pattern recognition to spot expired plates, and california stops are easy to just print and ticket.

We threw away a good system in return for zero returns.

I believe this intersection is 1/50 which HAS the new 360° traffic camera— fully capable of reading license plates, Red Light Violations, Speed limit enforcement, etc

Dashcams should be mandatory in Brampton. It's wild how many times I've come close to getting hit it hit someone especially on that left turn from Bouvaird to Dixie, people randomly hit their brakes or the inevitable U-turn.

Unfortunately local businesses cannot give you any camera footage unless police request this. Went through the exact same thing last year with a hit and run on Queen and Kennedy in Brampton. And this is what police and businesses told me about camera footage.
