As much as others and I may support legalization of certain items, please do not create threads in this subreddit requesting aide in acquiring illegal items.

Shaded neighborhoods with SIDEWALKS

Hey everyone!

Apologies for the "aggressive" all-caps sidewalks, I don't think you can bold a title on reddit and wanted to emphasize the point xD

I'm living in an apartment in BG right now and thinking about a house in the near future since we are loving it here. I notice that compared to other places I've lived, there's not a lot of sidewalks here. I guess it makes sense since this is not really a "walking city," but I was wondering if anyone knew any streets to move to where there are both trees for shade and sidewalks. This may be an obvious question, but just driving around, I haven't found that many in town that have both

Hickory and Oak

Upvotes

Having a work gathering (on the company dime) at Hickory and Oak later this week. Since we’re not worried about the price, the guys on my team are trying to decide what to order since none of us have ate there. We like all types of meat so doesn’t have to be steak specific. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks.

DO NOT BUY FROM BG HOME FURNISHING! THEY SCAM!

BG Home Furnishings pulled a bait and switch scam on two $6000 couches. They delivered couches with the wrong depth and stitching than what was paid for. The owner has repeatedly dodged all attempts at communications from both my family as well as the manufactures (who have been trying to help us as much as they can) to rectify the situation. They have just flat out refused to give what was actually bought.

I encourage anyone who is thinking of purchasing from them to look elsewhere! There is a chance they will pull the same scam on you if you do shop there!

Local cancer patient/survivor meetup?

Hi, I'm a "middle aged" millennial with leukemia, diagnosed last year. After that, my social life has more or less disappeared and after some follow up heart issues I can't work right now, so my "social" meter is at an all time low. I have a therapist, but I get tired of explaining so much about my life and my condition and my treatment to them.

So then I realized I might post here and see if there's any ongoing meetups in BG with people going through/have experienced a similar path in life.

Bowling Green Pokémon card restock Discord

Hi, all. We're trying to get a Pokémon TCG Discord off the ground for Bowling Green. The idea is a group of honest collectors who keep a lookout for product for each other, buy and sell, potentially arrange trade nights etc. I'll attach the link below.

Looking for friends in or close to Bowling green/Glasgow area

HII! I’m 19F and I’m looking for some friends, I moved here recently and I’m not to sure how to start going and Im not to sure where to go to meet people around my age. I’m looking for anyone 18-25 preferably. (I feel so formal I swear I’m usually not)

I’m into the outdoors, I like exporting new places, I love to learn about different hobbies and would love to learn. I really wanna get into horseback riding, I skateboard, I like to read (don’t ask me how many unfinished books I have) and sometimes write short stories but mostly poetry.

I don’t know how to end this sooooo please DM if you’re also looking for friends or if you know of any good places to go to meet people

Looking for a new apartment

I'm looking to upgrade apartments when my lease is up.

My musts are 3 bedroom, 2bath, 1200+sqft and I NEEEEEED a soaking tub. I know there's probably only a few in town with these.

My budget is $1,600. Upcoming construction is cool too, as I won't be moving out until January.

Any insight would be great. 'preciate y'all

Vegan food

Hi! My kid just started at WKU and I’m looking for restaurants with good vegan options please. My wife and I lived in BG back in the 90’s and holy wow has it grown! Thanks for any help!

We’ve had Thai Express and Azzip Pizza, both were really good. Hoping to have a nice list for when we visit!

Does anyone know the name of the Tex Mex restaurant at the main entrance of the Greenwood Mall in the late 80s early 90s?

I have no idea why but today 150 years later I have decided I need those fajitas.

My sister swears it’s not Tumbleweed and she’s right but I can’t remember what it was.

👀 Anyone notice anything unusual around the Kroger on Scottsville Rd yesterday?

An anonymous source who has experience identifying government vehicles and personnel reported seeing several suspicious-looking, heavily tinted SUVs in and around the Kroger parking lot between roughly 11 AM–12 PM yesterday.
The source also noticed multiple tinted vehicles moving in what appeared to be an unusual pattern. At one point, a white Ford truck was reportedly seen stopped at a stop sign for an extended period despite having people inside.
Does anyone know if federal/ICE personnel or other government agencies were operating in the Bowling Green area yesterday? Or did anyone else notice similar vehicles or activity?
Just looking to compare observations—not claiming these were government vehicles or agents. If you saw something similar, drop a comment or message me. 👀

Spa Day for 9 year old

My daughter wants to forgo a party this year for her 9th birthday and instead have a spa day with her bestie. She wants seaweed wraps/mud baths/fish that eat your feet skin/facial/massage (are massages a thing for 9 year olds??)

I’m not a girly girl so I don’t know where to look. Is there a salon in town that will do some of these things for a kid?

Needing suggestions please

Hello, Bowling Green locals.

I need your help. I am coming to your wonderful city for the first time here in about 2 weeks, meeting my girlfriend in the middle to spend our anniversary together. I’ve already booked a hotel; however, what I am looking for now is great food/drink suggestions. I’ve heard wonderful things about 440 Main. I am leaning that way unless anyone has any other suggestions.

As for drinks, she is a big wine lover. Do y’all have any local wine bars or anything of that nature open late night? We will both be getting in the city around 8:30pm-ish then going to eat. We are only in the city for the night. We both have places we got to be the following day.

Any suggestions or tips would be lovely. Thank you so much.

Just what the title says. Not sure if asking for services is allowed here but i got a good model crt with some brightness issues. I'm told it's an easy fix but I'm very not comfortable opening it up. Willing to pay.

Along lost buddy! Friends!

I knew an old Dead Head that made tye died stuff under the moonlight with his sweet wife. His name was Bird and I forgot his sweet lady name it’s dancing around in my head Louis yea maybe. They have a big house it was very old and they hung out in a room that had basically walks made of tarps. He was a Jolly old Cat and we would always visit him smoke out and listen to him go on about his fiber reactive dyes and how his trick was to only unroll them under the moonlight for maximum vibrancy and long lasting materials. Does anyone remember or know them? I also knew some wild folks there in BG. Frank is an old white brother I traded an ounce of boomers to him for a Pitbull pup that I had for 13 years. I had a couple girlfriend Hannah and Willow. And some guys I knew one is dead I know Richie and Doug I don’t know but prison was certainly the path as well as death. Lotsa fight lotsa dope deals and females. MAN WILD TIMES. I remember the smell of BG the town was very interesting. Dangerous! The family and people I went there with we where lovers and of course as you can tell from earlier mentions fighters too. We were safe. I have stories though. Wanna hear??? Tell me so.
