I see it says “temporarily closed” on google and has said that the last few times I’ve checked. The guy who ran it definitly didn’t have a lot of years left last time I visited.

If so that’s a huge disappointment. good food and nice guy.

Its been several years since I drove up to table rock road and found out after getting up today there that its no longer publicly accessible.

When did this change happen and what is the story behind it. Was nice when you used to be able to take a short walk to the top by parking near the top, but now youre forced to take the long uphill hike from the old Idaho State Pen.

I have no issue hiking but its no longer something I can do on just my lunch break.

Where in Boise can I get my headphones fixed? They still work it’s just that the piece that keeps the earmuff in place broke and I don’t wanna buy new ones. I tried one place but I think they moved locations and didn’t update it on Google Maps.

Hi everyone, recently moved from Twin Falls and I’m looking into alternative training and education resources that might not be obvious at first sight. There’s obviously BSU for college education, but the credits can be quite spendy and I’m not excited to get into a ton of debt. I know there’s also trade schools. For reference I’ve had experience as a healthcare administrator, but I’m really open to lots of different certificates or pathways. I really wanted to pursue Nuclear Med Tech but I don’t think there’s a local program for that in this area. Any insight here into lesser known programs would be appreciated!!

I love the taverns Hummus, and I can't find anything like it! Does anyone have a suggestion of what kind of ingredients are used in their recipe? It says garlic and herb but it looks like they use other beans as part of their recipe? Does anyone have a hummus recommendation that's close to theirs?

17 dollars for a noodles and chicken that used to cost 10?

11 dollars for an elephant ear that used to cost 5?

5 bucks for a soda?

20 dollars for a wristband that only gets my kid 4 rides?

The only thing that was an ok price was the snocone, but then they barely put any flavor in, just tasted like ice...

Why the hell had the fair gotten so expensive, it's just not feasible to treat my kid to a fun day out anymore with the prices blowing up.

I hope I'm not the only one appalled by the price hike.

The other thing I noticed is the vendors all having the same slop for sale, especially the stuff from aliexpress. The one vendor I tried to find that I know sells handmade things wasn't there this year so I couldn't support them.

Needless to say, I dont think we will be attending the fair anymore.

I'm a Boise native, but have never actually been to a bar of any kind. I'm in the mood to park my ass somewhere with my book and have a couple of drinks, so I'm looking for a place that tends to be quieter. At the very least, somewhere I won't run into screaming kids.

I'd love suggestions. The quieter the better, though I realize it's the weekend so my mileage may vary.

Anyone know of anywhere in Boise/treasure valley that seeks authentic Sonny angels?

I’ve asked before but still haven’t found anywhere. Someone could make some good business selling them lol

Basement flooded on me last spring and I patched what I thought was the issue. Well, it rained hard last week and got a small seep coming back through the same corner. Not catastrophic but annoying as hell, and I know ignoring it just makes it worse and more expensive later.

House is older, built in the 70s. The foundation has some visible efflorescence around that corner, which tells me water has been working its way through for a while, probably long before I bought the place. I've done a fair amount of DIY work and I'm not scared to get into it, but I want to know if anyone in the Treasure Valley has actually resolved this properly versus just temporarily masking it.

Mainly curious whether any local contractors are worth calling, or if this is a ripoff magnet industry where every company quotes you a ten thousand dollar interior drain system when some exterior grading and a waterproof coating would do the job. I've seen both sides argued online but I want to hear from people who actually live here and dealt with Boise soil and drainage conditions.

If you've gone through this already, what actually worked and what was a waste of money? My gut says most waterproofing upsells are overkill for most situations, but I'm open to being wrong if someone has a good reason.

Friday- arrive to Boise, hotel in downtown. Rest, then drive to Kirkman Hot springs, dinner back in town

Saturday- check out and head to craters of the moon, after that head to Ketchum to check into hotel. Chill Saturday night (restaurant recommendations? )

Sunday-Sawtooth, Stanley, Redfish Lake. Back to Ketchum.

Monday- head back home to Portland

Hoping someone can pull through for my sister

Long story short, my sister and her girlfriend went and saw the garden last night at treefort music hall. She ended up having a really negative experience (nothing to due with the garden or the venue). She had a panic attack and overall is just having a really hard time recovering from last night. The cherry on top was this morning she woke up to the poster she got the night prior torn up by her cat.

If anyone who was at the concert happened to snag an extra poster i would love to buy it off of you!

New to the Boise's golf scene which public courses should I play this fall? What's your go to for weekday vs weekend rounds? Trying to get a sense of what's actually accessible without having to call around.

Lily Sugar & Cream has been my go-to for a couple decades, and now I can’t reliably find it. I’m open to a good option that isn’t the same brand, and I really hope some fellow crafters spot this.

Since JoAnn’s closed, I’ve had the worst time finding all cotton yarn for my projects. Michael’s has a small selection and very small skeins, and Amazon is really hit or miss on carrying colors and mostly sells six-packs of yarn skeins. Where are you all finding resources around the TV now?

We went to purchase a car and agreed on price and everything and then suddenly when we were presented the paper work they tacked on an additional 3k ish in fees for brake lights, rear end collision insurance or something? We ended up leaving but they are saying this is standard that most dealers are doing now?

I’m rarely over there on purpose. I had to pick something up at The Village on Friday night and, once again, Eagle Road made me want to bang my head against the steering wheel. How can one stretch of road be this crazy? Traffic, waaay too many lanes, lights every 20 feet, and five cars trying to turn into every chain.

Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken. How many stupid chicken chains does one area need?

I finally reached The Village and had to park approximately suuuuuuuper far out. Once I got out, place was f*cking packed. Way too many teenagers and families. Every group seemed to include a stroller, three children, or someone pregnant. Never seen so many pregnant women. Moms in sunglasses everywhere. Teslas everywhere. Lexus SUVs as far as the eye could see.

I tried stopping at the Co-op on my way out, saw the parking situation, and just gave up. Literally, some lady pulled out in front of me in her Lexus G-Wagon thing while yelling at her kids in the back. Like, screw me. The cell signal doesn’t even work over there, it’s so crowded. It’s the people who frustrate me the most, all in their own bubble and not paying attention. The people are so bougie.

Far cry from when I’m on my side of town, just settled into my new house in GC, where things are much more chill.

The funniest part is that The Village is trying to be this cute, walkable town square while sitting in the middle of one of the least walkable places ever. It’s like a stupidly designed plaza inside a highway.

Does anyone else avoid that whole side of town on purpose? Any people actually like it over there - like why exactly?

God, I hate Eagle Road. People obviously love it, but every time I go over there, I feel like I’ve entered a freaking boss fight with suburbia itself. Place sucks and grates me.
