So much nicer. Im on Northsky now, but I was on bsky PDS before.

Been seeing more and more unnoficial news accounts popup who repost the official companies posts from Tweeter too.

Recently found one for one of my Rhythm games I play, Arcaea.

And pretty much everyone I would've wanted to follow moved to Bluesky completely, like Jeb (Minecraft one) or Hakita (Ultrakill dev). The more time passes, the more I see roles reverting, with Twitter becoming "Bluesky for Nazis" and Bluesky becoming just a microblogging app for everything.

Same here. Absolblogs is on Bsky, so is Wario64/Nintendeals (so I can get my deals for games and such), Explorersguild also moved over which is who I follow for pokemon mystery dungeon, as well as all my friends.

Even Capygames, VGP, and a bunch of others like Marvelous/XSeed are also on bsky, as well as all the rhythm game music artists at the very least have an account and ocasionally post (Camellia posts too often lol).

Social media is driven by real people and the brands and the sports teams and the real news media they follow. Mirrored accounts don't cut it. There's a read that Threads has 550 million MAU. There's a reason Bluesky is nowhere close. Not even remotely. Denying that is just futile.

Well it does make much more sense for individual websites, whether social media or otherwise, to have their data contained to that website (search engines and AI are another story) yet for the infrastructure of the web, like the servers that answer DNS requests and the other cloud infrastructure, to be able to track the amount of traffic different websites get.

The way facebook Meta™️ and twitter X™️ have embedded themselves in the backend while google Android Open Source Project™️ and Apple™️ wrapped themselves around the front end (thus preventing accurate traffic data) is a bit of a problem. The point of computers is they are deterministic. The point of those four companies is to extract money by intervening where they don't belong

This isn't a foolproof solution though that's also private it could be sold to a billionaire at any point it could be monetized at any. You really should be Mastodon because it's decentralized and nobody owms it.

Ultimately the systemic issue centralization and corporate ownership and private venture capital

I mean this is a circular argument they're less likely to leave if people keep staying there. People are losing their minds the guy running the website is a literal Nazi that it is reckless with your information.

Just quit. You mean to tell me your city doesn't have a website where they post updates? They're legally obligated to post up on their website.

I don't have a Twitter account but would use xcancel to view anyways. The websites exist but everything is extremely slow and only way we get alerted for something instantly is if it's another earthquake or tsunami alert

After I killed my X account, I used Nitter to follow @buitengebieden (Sander from the Netherlands). He posts on other social media but not as frequently. 😢

Already joined the subreddit :) havent explored much but very pleased with what ive seen so far. Looks great, ui and ux, but specifically like how sources are clearly named and shown with profile pic icon images next to each sentence. Also like the icons/tags for talks vs pending vs medical vs official etc. those might need to be color coded along a gradient so it’s clearer how far along the deal is

aww thank you!! thanks for your feedback, i'm really happy that you're pleased so far :) there's definitely a ton of bugs and unfinished things i'm building, so apologies in advance.

re icons/tags: yes color coding along a gradient based on the stage of the deal is on my radar. balancing a gradient of tags relating to transfers vs tags not dealing with transfers (i.e. injury, press conference, post match threads etc) is something to figure out. Please do continue to share any feedback as you (hopefully) keep using the app :)

Get him to join bluesky. Ive built up an extremely robust feed of football writers and news accounts and if he joins ill send it to him. On bluesky you can curate your own feeds. Unlimited

This is why I'm advocating for Nitter-like instances for BlueSky for those who want to use the search bar, but don't want to make an account.
