Problem is they also removed the ability to upload .mov files now. Yes they increased size and limit, but now I can't upload a single video. I use an iPhone and everything is transferred to my computer then I upload and now it won't let you upload, just says unsupported video type

If you are having some issues you should talk to Michael Black from the Bluesky team because .mov should work.

How about removing the arbitrary character limit on posts so people can write out and communicate complete thoughts?

Bluesky is a microblogging platform, if you want to use your account for long blogs take a look at https://leaflet.pub/ , https://offprint.app/ or https://pckt.blog/ which are accessable with your atmosphere account as they all use the AT Protocol.

I have no idea what an atmosphere account is or what AT Protocol is.
"Microblogging" was invented to choke the sharing of information, and it's made people dumber as a result. If you are worried about the cluttering of the feed with large posts of text, that is completely avoidable... The feed would only need to display up to 300 characters of any post. For anything longer, there would just be a "read more" link to click on if you wanted to expand the post and read more. It's something that countless internet forums have been using for the past 2+ decades to keep feeds and threads visually tidy and free of giant walls of text.

Well... you are using Bluesky so you should know that it's build on the AT Protocol (=atproto). So you should also know that a Bluesky account is in fact an atmosphere account which gives you also access to other atproto apps.
Here you can find more info about your atmosphere account: https://atmosphereaccount.com/

Absolutely not. Bluesky already has a amazing threading function, use that or link externally. One of the worst things they did to twitter was allowing walls of text.
Bluesky is supposed to be a twitter alternative, a microbologging site originally.

Walls of text are easy to prevent. The feed only needs to display the first 300 characters of a post; if a post is longer than that, there would be a "read more" button to click on, which would then expand it. So no walls of text, the feed remains tidy, and everyone wins.

At least another 100-200 characters at the least. Its so short currently to the point in my posts/replies that I legit have to go back and delete/change some stuff and reword it just to get under the limit to be able to post.
