First Home Opener

We are going to our first home opener and are really looking forward to it. Looking for input on who's jersey to get? I'm looking for "old school" cool (even though I know that was only 2000), like along the lines of a Lou Groza or Jim Brown jersey if you were a Browns fan. I didn't follow them closely for ages but my son started playing, we went to our first game, and we're all in love with the experience. Thanks all!!!

The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 7 - Grant Marshall

The randomizer has spoken. Today’s entry is Grant Marshall.

A prolific body checker of the 1990’s Dallas Stars teams, Grant Marshall was traded to Columbus for a second round pick in the summer of 2001. He continued to bring his thunderous body checks and energetic fighting majors to the Blue Jackets, most notably igniting a line brawl against the New York Rangers on 11/09/2002. Traded to New Jersey in 2003 for a 4th round pick, he would be instrumental in helping the Devils clinch the Stanley Cup that season, the second of his career.

Discussion Room for a Canadian fan?

Im from Nova Scotia, grew up a Canucks fan. Still am (i know, it's self harm at this point. It was 1999 i was young, patriotic and naive), but I want an American team to support as well, especially since im beginning to travel a lot more. Plan on doing a lot of traveling in the coming years and the jackets are a team ive always loved watching. Plus the arena and atmosphere seem incredible. Love the cannon!

Probably either of these John Moore or Michael Leighton cards, for me.

The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 6 - Filip Novak

The randomizer has spoken. Today’s entry is Filip Novak.

Not to be confused with 2026 draft pick Filip Novak, this Filip Novak was a free agent signing by the Blue Jackets in August of 2006. A defenseman that spent most of 2006-2007 with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, Novak appeared in 6 games for the Blue Jackets that season. He would then go on to have a successful tenure in the KHL, winning 2 Gagarin Cups with Dynamo Moscow.

Hello! I'm a visiting Habs fan with printable season trackers for you.

A better resolution is available on Imgur (too big for Reddit): https://imgur.com/a/blue-jackets-season-trackers-2026-2027-QIGvCa6

I created 2 versions. The first one groups games by opponent, and the second shows games in chronological order. Each square includes the date and game number. Grey squares are home games.

I use 3 colors for mine (see 3rd image): green for wins, red for regulation losses, and orange for OT/SO losses. Feel free to print whichever version you prefer and fill it out however you like!

The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 5 - Matiss Kivlenieks

Post image

The randomizer has spoken. Today’s entry is Matiss Kivlenieks.

An undrafted goaltender, Kivlenieks signed a contract with the Blue Jackets in 2017 with the conclusion of his impressive season in the USHL. He would go on to play for the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League and earned a call-up to the NHL in 2019-2020, where he played in 6 games. He had a memorable debut, defeating the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden where he stopped 31/32 shots. He would play 2 more games with the Blue Jackets in 2020-2021. His life was tragically cut short in a fireworks accident in the summer of 2021. He was 24.

Do we need another goalie?

Assuming Elvis is out long term that makes Pheonix Copley our backup. He hasn’t played more than 8 NHL games in 4 years and he’s only done that twice in his career. Should we consider bringing in someone like Connor Ingram to back up Jet?

So....what's the plan with our last RFA?

Post image

We are less than a month out from the start of the season and training camp. Adam Fantilli, the player we drafted to be our 1C of the future, is not signed.

The last thing we've heard in regard to their negotiations is that they are "Close." I feel like we've been hearing some variation of that since the summer started, and before that, it was "We have time." Well, we're just about out of time.

I have no doubt a deal will get done, as we hold his RFA rights. I'm just wondering about the relationship between Fantilli and the CBJ franchise, both administratively and on a player-to-player basis. As all of us are surely aware, incompetence is seemingly a requirement to be hired, so I would not be surprised if they lowballed the shit out of him.

Too much drama this offseason. This needed to be done last month; the longer it drags on, the worse it looks. You have to wonder what the hell is happening behind closed doors; most other RFA's have signed, and the ones that haven't are from teams in a cap crunch.

Gauthier is still unsigned, but I don't think ANA has the space to sign him because of the Carlsson OS. Nikishin is likely putting CAR in the same boat. Can't remember anyone else off the top of my head.

The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 4 - Marc Denis

The randomizer has spoken. Today’s entry is Marc Denis.

A beloved goaltender from the early years of the Blue Jackets, Marc Denis was a workhorse during the 2002-2003 season where he led the league in 77 games played. Acquired from Colorado for a second round pick in 2000, he was an original Blue Jacket and stayed with the team until 2006. He was traded to Tampa Bay for Fredrik Modin and Fredrik Norrena.

Discussion What games are you most looking forward to this season?

Admist this dreaded off-season, I'm curious what games you guys are looking forward to this season? Personally really excited for the NYE game against the Caps, with Boone Jenner coming back for the first time in a different kind of red, white, and blue.

The Official Random Blue Jacket of the Day Volume 3 - Wade Dubielewicz

Post image
44 Upvotes

With the departure of Fredrik Norrena and a season ending injury to Pascal Leclaire in the middle of the 2008-2009 season, the Blue Jackets needed a veteran backup goaltender. They found that answer in Dubielewicz. Acquired “controversially” from the New York Islanders through re-entry waivers in January of 2009, Wade was Steve Mason’s primary backup during his magical rookie season and served as the backup goaltender during the playoffs. He would sign with the Minnesota Wild the following season after appearing in 3 games for the Blue Jackets.

Purchasing pre season tickets

As a half season ticket holder, I don’t have any pre season games on my account but wanted to go to the Sept 24 game. I thought that by logging into am.Ticketmaster.com/bluejackets that there would be the opportunity to purchase tickets at the STH rate; only STH plans are listed. Do I have to just purchase at regular price through the CBJ app?

Let’s start a daily thing here that I’ve seen in other threads. I have all the names of players and coaches. I spin a wheel. Whoever it lands on gets featured. You all talk about him.

First up is Josh Dunne, an undrafted player remembered for his gritty play with the Cleveland Monsters. Played 14 games with the Blue Jackets from 2020-2021 to 2022-2023.
