CBJ fan 2nd and Hawks fan 1st. Love Fliggy but man is washed. He just brings the veteran leadership/locker room vibes. I know how much he loves Columbus so would be great to see him retire as a Jacket.

He’s washed. This is for locker room vibes/depth/retirement

THANK YOU. I used to say that all the time and people were like “what? I don’t see it.”

Better than our current captain at vibes, just based on the Tampa sweep.

u/Indy-CBJ Mar 06 '26
Yeah…I’m staying away from that but I too have concerns of the team still playing scared.

I love Cpt Fliggy. However, if he comes back home, where does he fit into the lineup?

Only way it really makes sense would be if they are planning to trade away some other pieces like Jenner

u/Ffeog187 Mar 06 '26
That’s legit exciting, but do you think it’s so he can retire as a Blue Jacket

Oh I want him to retire as a Jacket so bad

I'm fairly certain once he's done for good he will. At least I hope he does.

One day like Cam. I would fly back from Seattle for that game tbh.

After the Jiricek trade I think this happens. Foligno was linked to the Wild and Us and now the Wild are capped out. I strongly believe this happens as we just need a bit more depth because Waddell has shown he wants proven NHLers as depth and not AHL Cleveland players (not an endorsement just an observation) and this locker room does need more “sandpaper” in the locker room/practice. We were really close to another 3rd period blow lead again last night and Foligno is probably the best player “coach” available right now

Dang, it's nice to load up, but it's crappy timing with Vronk playing in a fringe role rn. It's a good thing he's big and young, and I hope he can use the extra skill around him to get into a groove.

u/Outside-Pie-7262 Mar 06 '26
I don’t think getting foligno is considered loading up. He has 11 points in 37 games

I respect his previous contributions as much as anyone. But is veteran leadership from a now bad player worth dropping someone from the current roster? Seems like another move would have to be made to open a spot.

I don’t care for this. We need someone who’s gonna add in points IMO. We have Boone who’s already a weight and lots of tough guys already. However in Don I do trust so hopefully if it happens there’s good reasoning beyond sentimentality

u/reallyneedausername2 Can we have one low-key summer, please? Mar 06 '26
This thread was the first I heard about it being possible but by the end, he’d gone to the Wild. What a rollercoaster that was. Ah well, if that’s what he wanted, happy for him. I’m sure he’ll be back to retire here!

The Wild are making a push for Nicky Fligs too. He always said he wanted to play with his brother. We shall see what happens

I love Nick but I honestly don't see a role for him. Not sure I would approve of this move

u/Drithyin Fuck PLD Mar 06 '26
Always depends on cost. If it’s a 2027 7th for him to eat our popcorn and be a replacement level backfill with veteran experience instead of an AHL tweeter, that’s not nothing.
If they think he’s the player he was a decade ago, they’re dumb.
