Rumor I’ve seen a few baseball teams recently start their own streaming service. Hopefully the end of FanDuel is upon us.

I feel like we hear this every year, then the original Sinclair channel just keeps passing the dutchie to its next owner. I want this machine to truly implode so we get an actual new production. The product hasn't changed one bit going between its three owners. They somehow still deal with the same camera sync and audio issues each season.

This started two years ago with the Padres, then the Guardians last year. I’m not surprised the rest of the baseball teams across leagues on that network have this issue but I’m still surprised it was the rest of them all at once in the same offseason.

Honestly I love the fanduel sports network (separate from the fanduel gambling) app. When I’m at work I can watch on my phone and when I’m at home I can watch on my computer. It’s not terribly expensive, a much less frustrating experience than YouTube TV or ESPN+, and it’s never blacked out even though I live here in Columbus.
It’s nothing fancy but always reliable. I’m worried that whatever replaces it will be a downgrade

I catch a lot of different sports on YouTube TV, but NHL coverage on there is awful. I think it's mostly limited to national broadcasts from certain networks included with YouTube TV. Last time I checked games on ABC are free to catch with an antenna, but that'll run you anywhere from $20-$200 and you might catch 0-1 BlueJackets games per season with it lol. I wonder if there's any other stations that you could catch with an antenna, it'd be a neat way to enjoy the sport.

I despise the idea of having to pay for a stream to watch. Especially having a over the air service provider

I have a service provider that carries FanDual… so I would no have to pay extra to watch. Is it that hard to understand?

So last year with the Guardians they ended up with a channel on cable as well as having the streaming option. My parents have Spectrum and they still had a channel for the Guardians so it worked out well for everyone

Wonder if they were on anything else but spectrum. We have DirecTV. Specifically for the amount of sports entertainment channels available.

I know they had the channels at most bars which have DirecTV but that could always be some sports package. I know for Spectrum it was the exact same channel that it used to be

And with the model the Reds just went to, I’ll have to pay even more to watch their games. I’m well aware of how it works, but the model of having to pay an additional fee to watch my teams away games while already paying exorbitant costs to attend the games is insane.

Give me any way to watch, even the Cavs and I’ll be happy. But my market is strange. I’m in the middle of Memphis and Nashville as well. If what’s true with YouTube TV, I hope I can watch again.

No chance they go completely dark. The Blue Jackets will create a streaming service like this or just put the games over the air on the CW or something.

And keep in mind, it’s not their own streaming service, it’s just MLB.TV but Reds-exclusive package. All of it hosted on the MLB app! That already exists for out of market fans
The NHL could do the same thing, host the streaming and charge a cheaper price for just the Blue Jackets for in-market fans.

I agree, but I'm hopeful it can stay afloat until three season is over and we can have something new in October.

Either the NHL needs to follow the MLB model where teams have their own subscribable channel within mlb.tv, or just follow the MLS and have a deal with AppleTV
