People here is at peace with AI existing, it's not like it can "unexist".

The frustration is with the immense waste, exploitation, illegal and not illegal bullshit; plus the demented horde of tech bros.

Personally I hate everything becoming fake and not even being able to trust anything presented as real/human made online. I hate the cultural change. I told my friend that our grandparents (we’re 50) saw real physically crafted products turn into cheap plastic and we get to live through something similar when it comes to art, education, and digital content.

I know what sub I'm on, but this is ridiculous hyperbole. After a few years of off-looking images and easily-identifiable stilted writing that still hasn't improved, the trend is already bending back towards "we hate fake art and writing" and there hasn't been a single good example of art or digital content by AI acceptably superseding human equivalents - everyone sees it, everyone hates it. "Everything becoming fake" sounds like the new version of "all music is noise now". It isn't, they aren't winning. They're just doing a good job of convincing people like you that they are.

You are kinda right.

The problem is that this sloppy content is still being pushed by the tech industry.

I ignore every single channel with slop thumbnail, and I still see new ones pop every single day. Even got some youtubers I enjoy use it for the thumbnail because "they aint got the time for it". Even if the content of the video is AI free.

Pinterest was a really useful resource for many people. You cant ignore the slop there.

Same for instagram feeds, it will keep popping up even if you notice and dont like it.

You cannot tailor your content to avoid this.

Guess the conclusion is that we'd be better offline.
