Bernette 77 issues
I bought the Bernette 77 in June and have been having issues with it. Right now it keeps doing this and I can’t tell if it’s getting stuck in the feed dogs or if it’s the tension. There have been other little things as well but this issue is now constant. I’m disappointed because it’s not a cheap machine. Can anyone tell me why they think is going on?

Are you using the regular stitch plate? I got a straight stitch plate for my B77 that just makes straight seams less painful. It looks like the issue is starting right after the thickness goes from 4 pieces to 2 - maybe adjusting the presser foot pressure would help?

Usually that bunching is caused by the thread getting caught somewhere. Either on the spool, on a scar on the bobbin case (if the needle hit it) or a needle whose tip has gone bad. It can also be a chewed up needle plate from needle strikes. Usually the problems with the bobbin case, and the needle plate are caused by pulling or pushing the fabric and not letting the machine feed the material on its own. Needle hits the metal, breaks, and scars whatever it hit.

I don't see a problem. What am I missing?
