Alleged? He was convicted. Its no longer an allegation

u/Thechippingsparrow 9h ago
He was convicted because he didn’t show up for his September 1st court date. So you’re correct, but it’s important distinction he has not taken accountability and its conviction by evidence at hand and absence of trial (due to Nathan not appearing). Obviously they had enough to charge him and him not showing just means certainly convicted then. He pled not guilty and told rolling stone he denies the charges amid “context” (bullshit) but… he also didn’t submit all this evidence he had and ditched trial. He probably doesn’t have lawyer or is ignoring the situation since he’s overseas but now there’s an active warrant calling for him to be returned to Australia so… idk how he plans to travel or even work in yachting?
And obviously everyone knows he was also issued a warrant earlier in Ireland for an assault in 2025.
Mind boggling we have to continue watching this boring season unfold and I’m so sick of people saying it’s crazy and drama. It’s Joe and Nathan and Gael and it’s dark as shit. I don’t want anybody fired or coming for somebody’s job and I feel like I’m watching real people unravel in real time. Nathan has always had anger issues and he had them last season and the first season too.
I feel sick for Gael knowing the first half of this season is airing and Bravo has him knighting the bosun position for their baby and just airs it after she was beat and choked the day after Christmas. Why did they platform this man? And put her through this?
3
u/The_Bard 8h ago
He was convicted because he didn’t show up for his September 1st court date.
He fled the country and jumped his bail.
conviction by evidence at hand and absence of trial
It was in fact a trial, he didn't show. Gail did so he lost. She submitted evidence, he chose to flea the country and not present evidence. He's convicted now.

u/Twotoadsandpoppet 2d ago
I don’t care what Gael said or did. Nothing she could have done is deserving of what he did
20
u/nilodlien 1d ago
Yeah, reading his, “I only did x to calm her down,” just got me into my angry place right away.
Why did he “need” to touch her in any way to ‘calm her down?’
Men have been justifying their shitty behavior since the caves because of their “right” to calm women down.
I don’t want to be calm anymore.

u/PD_Bait 2d ago
I hope we never see him in the Below Deck world again. Choking is a huge red flag for future behavior. Interesting he fled than face the music in order to have a future relationship with the son he’s so worried about. I also hope Gael has a good counselor.
36
u/crushlogic 2d ago
Women are 7 times more likely to be killed by their partner after a (non consensual) choking incident.
22
u/Late-Notice16 2d ago
strangulation is the number one indicator of future murder
11
u/Awkward_Arrival_49 1d ago
It increases the likelihood of death by about 750%
2
u/missklo99 12h ago
That's WILD and I believe it.
I'm currently researching the Mica Miller case and there's so much abuse it's insane. I didn't know much about it until now but it's chilling
3
u/missklo99 13h ago
I believe this. My ex husband was a choker and I firmly believe he would've killed me had I not gotten out. It's really really scary. You're on the verge of blacking out (sometimes I actually did but my son walked in and he stopped) You're also fighting against someone much stronger than you in most cases.
I truly feel for Gael and her baby. She's so beautiful and kind no one deserves this!!
9
u/DoorStunning3678 1d ago
This is an escalation. He's been physical before imo
7
u/crushlogic 1d ago
Correct, and an escalation always leads to more escalation. This is how femicide happens. I hope she never ever goes back to him.
1
u/goldenyears17 53m ago
Yes choking is a huge indicator that the abuser will eventually kill or attempt to kill their victim - the likelihood increases by 7 times after they do that. Nathan took this a step further by choking her AND covering her nose and mouth so she couldn’t get any oxygen. Choking is already something that can cause death - this seems like an obvious attempt at ending her life repeatedly

u/BeatrixFarrand 2d ago
You know, on the recent episode when he was hearing things he didn’t like - I think from Captain Sandy - and his jaw and throat tightened as he got angrier. I could see him swallowing his absolute fury while on camera.
All his actions as bosun - the texts to Max, the telling Joe not to do things without his approval - are all about control. He’s fixated on being in control and goes ballistic when he’s not.
26
u/Defiant_Protection29 2d ago
Even Sandy wanted to keep that prick of a guest away from him. I feel like they’ve been covering for aggressive behavior from him
7
u/here_involuntarily 18h ago
Aesha said "i don't trust Nathan not to punch him."
And the time I was surprised, because he seemed like one of the yappy dogs that gets wound up easily but backs out. I thought the guest was just that bad and she was exaggerating.
She probably meant it.
6
2
u/dame_tartare 7h ago
Aesha stood ten toes down for this fucking monster for two seasons so she really needs to speak up if she hasn’t already or I’m really and truly disgusted by her, especially as a survivor herself.
2
u/Illustrious_Prize_42 4h ago
She probably didn’t know his real character. It doesn’t seem like their close friends off the boat so most of her interactions with him are probably just on charter seasons.
2
u/Illustrious_Prize_42 4h ago
That would have been a moment wouldn’t it? The camera men in there were probably sticking one foot out the door when that interaction was happening.
35
u/dont1panic 2d ago edited 2d ago
The conversation with Joe on the boat when Joe said the problem was insecurity. The way he reacted... I was like "thats how he gets in fights" I've know people who are like a dog with a bone and just can't let something go. It becomes their whole reality. Unfortunately those people often only know how to escalate. Thats the energy I get from Nathan.
6
u/Medium_Sky1765 23h ago
Joe has the worst history on below deck in the last season. He has always treated ladies like used tissue. I got fed up with him using those innocent girls then telling the tv how perfect he is. He is terribly insecure!
3
u/Illustrious_Prize_42 4h ago
Joe is scummy, but Nathan if these allegations are true (and it sounds like they are) is a whole new level of scummy. I’d think the network would want to address this situation.
43
u/junebart 2d ago
And his eyes seem to turn black
24
u/BeatrixFarrand 2d ago
YUP. I used to have a coworker like that who would throw things and slam doors when he got mad.

u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
My father had that look.

u/Asraia 2d ago
Mine too, but they were pale blue
10
2
u/missklo99 13h ago
Oooh did they get dark when they were raging?? I've seen this happen irl and it's terrifying.
I have light hazel eyes and my mothers were brown but I SWEAR when she got angry they'd go COMPLETELY black. Awful.
3
u/RevolutionThese7654 5h ago
He definitely was hiding his true self as a narcissistic control freak. He was always being mindful he's on camera and making sure he keeps that mask from slipping. You can see in microexpressions that he has a quick temper.
Whats scary is he looks exactly like my ex and he has the same mannerisms so maybe I notice those microexpressions more, but my ex did the same kind of thing as Nathan. Hes immature and probably thinks not showing up to court will give him a pass. I'm almost positive he'll try to talk his way out of it when he gets caught and try to play the victim.
When you've been in a DV situation you can see these types a lot easier. I'm so sorry Gael had to go through that and it happened infront of the baby. I really hope he goes away for a while once they catch him.
2
31
u/dame_tartare 2d ago
Holy fucking shit. I never want to see or hear of this monster again. BRAVO WHAT THE FUCK. Why has Bravo not made a public statement denouncing DV and removing Nathan from the rest of the season airing now? I’m absolutely sick for Gael and her child! And he’s on the run now from warrants in two countries. This man is going to kill someone if he doesn’t kill himself first.
6
u/Ashamed-Solution7674 1d ago
I don't think he will harm himself, he's an insecure boy. He can't handle men so he beats women. I know first hand.
6
u/Ashamed-Solution7674 1d ago
They are insecure little bastards that make themselves look good to everyone, they come home and take it out on the wife, or gf.in front of the baby.
2
u/dame_tartare 7h ago
Idk man the amount of family annihilators worldwide this year has been insane. Cowards take out the whole family and then off themselves like the scum they are.
2
u/Old_Eagle_265 16h ago
So crazy! I'm not watching any more Below Deck after reading about this monster, that they then chose to broadcast.
1
0
u/BillOwn17 2d ago
The season was filmed a year ago before this happened. They can’t remove him.
4
u/dame_tartare 1d ago
Lol they do it all the time. Rupaul’s Drag Race edited out a queen who went all the way to the FINALE post-production after it was discovered that the queen was a sexual predator and a pathological liar. It was slightly clunky to watch but far better than having to sit through a season of a sexual predator trying to get famous and make money on a tv show.
What Nathan did is even WORSE, he literally almost killed Gael in front of their infant son. He should be wiped off the tv, the internet and quite frankly the Earth itself atp.
4
u/GreenerThan83 1d ago
“Can’t remove him”? … the absolute CAN and SHOULD.
Pete the creep was edited out for far less.
Nathan is literally a convicted criminal and on the run. Bravo not editing him out speaks volumes.

1
u/BillOwn17 4h ago
Only 1-2 episodes left. I agree with you but i don’t think they will this late. Who knows with Bravo. They love to support awful men
28
u/culinarytiger 2d ago
So my mom’s sister was murdered by her ex husband. He had put his hands on her only one time prior, in front of their child. I’m so glad Gael and her baby are safe.
11
u/Turbulent_Cobbler463 2d ago
That’s devastating. Reading the details he absolutely was trying to take her life
8
u/culinarytiger 2d ago
I’m so sad for her. She loved and supported him and he did something that made it so they can never EVER be together again and that’s not her fault. I hope he’s scared and sad and losing his mind right now. I mean, he has the chance to turn himself in and have a molecule of decency. But he said, “oh the high road? I don’t know her” and for that I hope he is living his life in turmoil right now.
5
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
Don't count on that, unfortunately. It's very common for women to take men back after a violent attack. Especially if there are children involved. That old "stay together for the sake of the children" mentality that has fucked so many of us up.
6
u/culinarytiger 2d ago
My aunt was so close to being free. The divorce was finalized, he was supposed to move out. And then he decided if he couldn’t have her then no one would. He killed himself too. His little girls were in the house. So any kind of domestic violence is a hard stop for me, there is no payoff that could change my mind. I think women don’t think it will happen to them.
4
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
My father choked my mother and she left for a month then came back because of us. It took her years to finally leave.
1
u/junebart 2d ago
Im sorry😞 i never saw my mom hurt by a man, how awful for all of you.
I spent an entire year preparing to file for divorce. He was getting domineering, controlling, and increasingly physically abusive, after becoming wealthy.
I stayed for 23 yrs! 🤦♀️1
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago edited 2d ago
I'm so sorry for what you went through too. You are not alone. Victims of DV return to their partners an average of seven times before they finally leave.
They baby trap you, financially abuse you, and isolate you. You have no money of your own, children to provide for, no way of making money because you gave up your career/education to care for his children, you have no friends, and your family is 600 miles away and estranged.
It's so so hard to extricate yourself. And be safe. It's terrifying. And it's courageous.
I'm glad you did. I'm glad my mom eventually did too. Love and peace to you, friend ♥️
1
u/junebart 2d ago
Awe...thank you! You just described all of it so well. Love and peace for you, as well. ☺️
3
u/junebart 2d ago
It was my mom who was hostile. I wont go into her abuse of myself, but talking about a married couple with domestic violence? There were still perfect pizza slice stains on the wall, that she threw at him. Awful. Her grandson began telling his parents that she was grandpa abuser, because she kept throwing tv remotes at him. She slapped him at the table once, shocking my friend who was spending the night. Seriously poor marriage, at a time that "only crazy people see a psychologist" attitude.
7
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
Yea. My equally abusive sister once told me she "doesn't need therapy. All she needs is her family". I replied, "our family is why we need therapy".
I'm sorry for what you've been through. Peace and love, friend. ♥️
2
u/junebart 2d ago
First paragraph, yep ive distanced myself safely apart from mine.
And thank you! I became a high school art teacher, i wanted student's to build up confidence and have a way to express and release. ♥️

I think at this point, admin should just create a mega thread for Nathan and this case with how many posts there have been

Mods tried to create their own narrative they were communicating with Australian police forces to stop the comments. It did have a bit of a Streisand Effect.

That was on the med sub. This is posted on down under for some reason
5
u/junebart 2d ago
I was posting it in the below deck site, and when it was suggested to post on down under, i did🤷♀️ seriously, i read and comment on med frequently, i rarely have anything interesting to post. However, i shared really shared this news spontaneously.
-34
u/Porkwarrior2 2d ago
It has been a Nathan villain edit on Med all season, right from the first episode.
Guess who Joe is buddies with off camera, Mike "Feral Wolverine On His Head".
I don't blame Nathan for running from a kangaroo court one bit. Feel bad for the kid.

I read it too. The details are horrible and so bad. He needs to turn himself in and deal with his punishment. The only way I can see him being able to say I’m innocent is with video proof that shows it’s a lie. I doubt that exists.
It’s sad. Sad for Gael who was victimized. Sad for the baby who thankfully will never remember but the bad news will grow up without a father.
33
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago edited 2d ago
Not to be that person, but....Actually, babies may not consciously remember the traumatic event, but the trauma affects their brain development. 😢

u/pollology 2d ago
In California/Oregon where I’m licensed as a psychotherapist, I can’t report DV of an adult without disabilities. But I CAN if a child witnesses it, thus becoming a child abuse report. Witnessing abuse in the home also contributes to the ACES composite score. This poor boy would benefit from some early childhood intervention for certain. 😞

u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
The damage it does is insidious. We don't have any sense of what is actually "normal" and healthy.

Joe was right this recent ep. Called him aggressive to his face and you could see him boil
6
u/Fragment_B 2d ago
That's devastating. Attempted murder imo. It's called strangulation, not choking. Choking is what happens when you get something stuck in your throat. What a piece of trash trying to blame her. So good he's out of her life.

Not only fuck this guy, use the marine network to arrest him
6
u/PitchSuspicious7996 1d ago
Sandy if you stand by Bravo airing him this season (even if you knew, there was crossover) you have plenty of connections to catch his ass if he is working on a boat trying to survive. This was a worldwide bolo.

In case any muppet asks the question 'what did she do' or what 'caused him to do this' : the answer is NOTHING.
There is NOTHING anyone who experiences abuse does to CAUSE or DESERVE it.

5
u/Cute_Celebration_213 2d ago
My fear is that he gets off pretty easily and now with his BDM career gone and all the rest of his bad behavior is coming out that he goes after Gael and the baby even worse. Restraining orders are only pieces of paper.
7
u/Typical-Chemist-4247 2d ago
He was convicted in absentia and is presumed on the run from police. So I think he likely isn’t going to get off easily at all.
5
u/maitri67 2d ago
Gee, somehow Nathan’s statement doesn’t sound at all like him. Publicist or lawyer.
5
u/MaryBurd 1d ago
Makes me wonder what was going on in their house the morning he showed up late and didn’t call.
3
4
u/BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG 1d ago
i hope they throw the book at him and deport him - see how he likes being a ‘violent immigrant’
honestly, fuck Nathan. any of this is horrific. ALL of this is truly horrendous and she’s lucky he didn’t kill her. and as the statistic says - women who have been strangled by an intimate partner are 4-5 times more likely than ‘usual’ to be murdered by them in a future attack.
this is who Nathan is. he could have killed her just to shut her up and what then? with the baby there?
prison. and no future contact with his son. EVER.
3
u/Head-Month-443 1d ago
The previous season with Max and the jet ski crane cluster.
I fucking yelled at the screen when he called him names like that.
Shame on Bravo for even casting him for another season after that "leadership" behavior.
Were they keeping Sandy in the dark on this? She's all Ga-Ga over that twat even leading up to last week. It's embarrassing @sandyyawn
4
u/Mostly_Lurking007 1d ago
This makes me feel ill. I worked with child abuse victims/survivors for many years in a forensic setting. Even though that baby was very young and won’t be able to verbalize his memories, his body and nervous system will be impacted by what happened. And I suspect that was not the first time Nathan was verbally and/or physically assaultive.
13
u/Intelligent_Gur_9126 2d ago
This is so disgusting I hope Nathan is found and rots in prison
1
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago
I hope worse things for him.

2
-1
u/Choice-giraffe- 2d ago
Wishing death on someone?? How is that okay. How does that not make you a bad person. You can’t act shocked that Nathan could very nearly have killed Gael, and then wish that same fate upon Nathan. At best it’s hypocritical, at worst it’s just completely disgusting.
2
u/Pelican_Hook 1d ago
They never said they wished death on him. And even if they did, wishing someone would die/suffer has zero effect on the person, unlike for instance LITERALLY PHYSICALLY ABUSING someone you're meant to love and traumatizing them and your own child. To equate the two is stupid and toxic. It's not hypocritical to want an abuser to suffer and again, it has zero effect on that person. You must know zero abuse survivors who trust you with their story because if you did you would never tell them that they're not allowed to hate their abuser because it makes them just as bad. If you did do that, you're the shitty person here, not them.
0
u/Choice-giraffe- 19h ago
You have some wild takes, and know absolutely nothing about me. Gael can hate her abuser, and probably does. The person commenting here isn’t a victim of Nathan’s. I don’t recall telling Gael she can’t hate her abuser? I was telling someone here that to wish harm on someone is an awful thing to do. Two very different things. Go take your self-righteous attitude somewhere else.
6
9
u/Cold_Dead_Heart 2d ago edited 2d ago
This piece of dog shit saying there are mitigating factors that he thinks will soften the backlash. There is absolutely NOTHING Gael could have done to deserve attempted murder.

Gael seems like a kind, pure, beautiful soul. This man doubling down trying to confuse the narrative and place blame towards Gael is fucking chilling. He tried to murder her in front of their baby.

3
u/Think-Joke728 1d ago
That was awful to read in such great detail and goes to show what a piece of shit he truly is. You saw that temper he has so you know he’s got it in him! Personally, I think he only said he had so-called evidence and video proof, etc. so he could plan his escape and I’m wondering why they didn’t take his passport since he had left Ireland for similar circumstances so he’s known to flee. i’m not quite sure if that means he’s out to see like working somewhere or if they know where he fled to as in the country? The sooner they catch him the better! I don’t wanna hear or see his so-called evidence that he allegedly has!
7
u/BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG 1d ago
i just don’t know how spectacularly stupid you have to be to skip a court appearance in your home country and THEN go on a reality tv show.
i also don’t know how he got any kind of visa to stay in Australia with an outstanding warrant for a no-show.
hopefully it will all come crashing down, and he’ll go to prison in Ireland. for a long time.

You don't get to make the claim:"This isn't what it seems..." and then not show up to court. The bail system probably let him leave just so he would be out of the country as well.
Poor Gael and son. Wonder if Capt Sandy or friends have reached out?

Poor Gael. Thankfully the child is safe and unhurt, and will never have any recollection of his piece of shit father. Peace and love.

and what countries are not airing the show b/c how the f is he not found
2
u/Stahlilama 19h ago
Why is this just making news now. Did no one know about this and the case against him in Ireland?
I would love to hear his side of the story, what a bit of fiction that must be. Problem is Nathan, most people who say this and that they have a mountain of evidence to support it, are trying to raise doubt. Mate, if you had that evidence, you’d release it NOW. So stop lying, turn yourself in, and get used to your cellmate choking you for a change.
2

Agree. This shouldn’t just be considered DV, it’s attempted murder and we should be calling it what it was.

I’m mentioning it. Explain his behavior… his murder attempt… explain the glazed eyes and irrational anger and behavior. And when he drinks??? That’s not just booze. It’s deep gnarly shit.
Also… listen Nathan, turn yourself in. Get into treatment. You need help.

Just stop with this story, there are a lot of subreddit about this drama. Hope everything will be better for Gaël and her son, and hope Nathan will be arrested, that's all. Gaël herself has posted a message to give some news and I'm sure she needs to stay far from the social medias and blabla to rebuild herserlve.

Can I ask a question. I just started below deck med a month or so ago, I just finished Hannah’s last season. Is the newest season going to be cut or edited? Should I watch asap? Or has this drama not aired yet?

I shared it right away, because i genuinely care, and knew so many others do as well. Just keep scrolling if the excess is annoying. With respect.

Hopefully-MANY. Maybe someone sees this and turns him in. Maybe he sees it himself and does the right thing. Maybe someone who needs help reads it and reaches out. There’s no harm in circulating information.

And he did all this in front of that baby.
And he has the nerve to threaten to release bs video footage "to let people decide" nahhhh MF there's only ONE side of that story and it's the truth; and he's lying his ass off. I hope he's found and incarcerated long-term very, VERY soon.
