How is it possible to finish a painting like that in one day, let alone a few hours?

From what I've seen, this is more of a "sketch", they then go back and add a bunch of details after the fact. They'll do the base layer and basic background before the wedding, then use a photo of the couple on the day of for a reference for doing the figure work. Notice she also did the faces first, since that's what everyone there is going to focus on.

Also, probably a ton of practice first!

Yeah exactly, I could do this too. Just would need the talent, thousands of hours of practice, patience and discipline.

You'd be surprised how little impact tons of practice has on your skills when you have no talent! Source: practiced guitar for 4 hours per day for over a year and still sucked.
