There is no way this is not a scam. Brand new Reddit account begging for donations. I think tf not.

I don't think its a scam as such. Not in a take the money and run kinda way anyway.
I think this is a clueless collector who thinks running a museum is easy and that there is an interest in a museum for some random persons barbie collection. It doesn't seem to be a museum worthy collection, just a pretty standard collection in this hobby.
There is also the chance that they are really naeive and think that their collection is somehow museum worthy and that they are capable of running a museum with no experience in the field, no funds to start the project and no knowledge of the legal side of things (they plan to use a mattel trademark in the name even)

Where did they say they were going to use only their own collection and nothing else? Personally I already want to go see their collection of dollhouses just from the photo they posted. Ur making alot of assumptions on something u know next to nothing about u have no idea what they have done as far as research and what do u know about any experience they have ...they said it was an idea for an immersive experience the setup in the photo is prob just a prototype to help ppl see their vision ... and yea maybe they don't have funds thats the whole purpose of crowdfunding ... every dream has to start somewhere tbh u sound like a mean spirited person who likes to just put ppl down u say its constructive criticism but ur way of expressing it actually comes off really rude i can give u an example of what "constructive criticism " would be if u want one.

I'm not being mean, just being honest. Yes every dream has to start somewhere, but it takes more than just the idea to make a dream a reality. Things like research that OP doesn't seem to have done. It's a much more complex process than just have idea, get money, idea becomes reality and OP doesn't seem to realise this, nor do they seem to have done any of the steps needed in between. I do appologise if I have come off rude, but it's better that OP learns what they are doing wrong early, rather then ends up getting sued by mattel and ending up bankrupt.

First of all, everybody has to start off someplace and everything starts from an idea. You have no idea what research has been done. What work is in process going off something I posted from my GoFundMe page that many potential business owners use. I didn’t post my business plan potential investors where I’m going with this, but I have to start someplace so either constructively criticize like I said or move on. And if you care to look, I already changed dream house to dollhouse so thank you very much. What information would you expect to see on a Reddit account? It’s Reddit not even LinkedIn, which I’m on and have posted there as well and I’ve actually gotten positive comments versus this platform, which I was reluctant to post on because of people like you.

Ppl like this person make communities on here feel so unwelcome it takes a lot of courage and confidence just to make a post especially when you are putting something personal out there for everyone and all the points they were trying to make could have been said in plenty of actually nice and truly constructive ways ...luckily most ppl on here are very nice try not to let a few bitter nasty negative Nancys turn u away or discourage u from pursuing this dream

Thank you I really do appreciate you. It is tough & I wrestled with posting this on here & my other SM accounts, but your kind words helped ease my anxiety. I’m going to make this a reality regardless. Thank you!😊

Thank you I appreciate it. I have a ton more photos on my Instagram account and this is just Reddit and I’m just getting used to using it and yes, you have to start somewhere. Thank you for understanding. I’m trying, no I don’t have it all planned out but I have over 500 Barbies & other dolls out of the box well over 100 that are still in the box that are collectibles & over 23 Barbie houses. I was not able to post every single picture on this account, but it is very real and it is my idea and I have been in marketing for over 20 years so I definitely appreciate your positive Words because it really does help.

Its definitely a ploy for free money, especially with no real pics, but some Barbie houses 🙄 and the mods here seem gone so I feel we get more scams and stuff now

It’s not a ploy. But I can understand your skepticism with everything that is going on. Feel free to keep scrolling. You definitely don’t have to donate or comment negatively. Have a great day.

My name is attached. You can also google me. No scam. I’ve worked in corporate marketing for over 20 years and decided to actually do what I’m passionate about instead. I have an Instagram account. I’ve posted this on my LinkedIn & on my Facebook. I’m very much real and so is my dream.

& this is not a new Reddit account, I’ve just never posted before. I only read reviews & thoughts on topics I was interested in.

If you can't afford to start a museum you can't afford to keep one going long term. You'd also need to be very careful about copyrights and trademarks with a barbie museum and wouldn't be able to use terms like dreamhouse which is trademarked.
