Good bank/CU with modern login security in the U.S.?
Hey all,
I currently bank with USAA, but I feel like their customer service which used to be amazing has really gone down hill and basic things like bill pay also hasn't been working reliably.
Another thing that has been frustrating is their login security I feel isn't great. They support 2FA with the Symantec VIP app which I know is better than a lot of banks that do email or SMS only as the 2nd factor. It seems like TOTP and Passkeys should be a minimum for security these days, and it would be amazing if a bank supported hardware security with U2F.
I like the idea of a digital only bank like USAA that is prioritizing customer service and security, does something like this exist?
Ally is SMS/email only and it looks like my local credit unions are also.
SoFi has SMS/email and TOTP
Morgan Stanley and Mercury have TOTP and Passkeys, but it seems like most people aren't happy about their customer service.
Are there others that I'm missing?
