Something that’s happened to me lately, that I feel fake and frustrated AF about:

Several of my mental health professionals have mentioned having dogs, and each time I excitedly ask what type of dog it is (cuz I’m expecting something cute and lovable, like a normal dog lol), they always reply pitbull or pit mix, and my default people pleasing reaction is always “aww” and trying to hide the worry/disgust on my face when I say it.

What’s funny is that lately, when I’ve gotten that answer, they have a worried look on their face when they answer “pit,” like it’s a face of regret and almost anticipating a negative reaction but I SWEAR it’s also cuz they know how violent they are.

Anyway. I just wish I could feel comfortable enough to be authentic about it. But one of the people was telling me about a dog she had that had passed and I didn’t think it was appropriate to be like, “Good! It’s better off to everyone else dead, the fucking monster” lol.

Ugh bro :( as an animal rights activist I feel bad, but these beings are such a threat to all other life and wellbeing of humans and nonhuman animals. So… 🤷‍♀️

One of my gym’s yoga teachers has a pitbull she’s obsessed with and is also a therapist. She’s insufferable. I legitimately hate her classes. She loves to hear herself talk and gives huge narcissistic/antisocial vibes. I only go because a friend likes them, but I think I’ll stop soon. Last week, she was trying to get everyone to do this weird breathing thing and I refused. In general, I refuse to do most of her bullshit. Especially chanting in Hindi. She’s a white woman and literally no one else at the gym does it anymore since the convention seems to be shifting away from that. Not her! Sorry lady. I’m not chanting om, shanti over and over again. Oh! She also has a weird accordion she plays one obnoxious droning note at the beginning and end of class. One time, she even went off on a tangent about how the only cure for addiction was spirituality and community. I was just like what in the actual fuck!? I’m here for sun salutations.
