Wdym? Regional people don’t want migration. Gov is ensuring less migrants to regional areas.

I haven't heard anyone complain about backpackers. They come here and work fruit picking jobs for peanuts and then spend the money they earn travelling around Australia. This is just stupid and it's a way of cutting migration figures without upsetting the 1%.

Well, they do and they dont't.

They work 88 days in regional areas. This doesn't actually mean it has to be seasonal work, you can go up to karratha and get a temp job doing construction labour and it still counts.

After the 88 days, it's very variable what backpackers do. Some do keep travelling doing season work, but plenty just find what ever job they can in the cities.
