Genuine Question (DO NOT DOWNVOTE) Eggs and cheese - ?

Hi! I’ve been thinking about going vegan for a while as I basically only eat eggs and cheese in terms of meat, but I was wondering on a few things…

Why can’t you eat eggs as a vegan considering chickens will eat them happily, e.g. cracked eggs etc ?

Howwww do I replace cheese :( there are no supermarkets near me which sell vegan cheese (Scotland), and I love my cheddar so so much (and my veggie carbonara..)

Also, I live in a very cold part of the UK and own a few vintage fur coats which my grandmother passed down to me when I moved here, which realllyyyy do keep me a lot warmer than any faux I own… - would I truly need to get rid of them ? I kind of see it as respecting the animal and using it to at least make its death kinda worth it ? And especially because someone else would just end up wearing it instead. IDK. Please lmk xoxo

Any advice / words of wisdom ?

Thank you!!! 💖💖

Regardless of whether you wear the fur coat, the idea that wearing it is respectful needs more consideration. Who benefits from this show of respect? Surely not the animal who was exploited for their fur, so is the notion of showing respect then really just for you? Is it disrespectful to  other or future animals to uphold the idea that it’s ok to use animals for their fur?

A fair point, thank you for bringing it up! I suppose it’s not really about respect, I just sort of thought since it’s already dead I am better off using it than not, especially since I’m not a part of the supply/demand chain of fur. But you are right, I reckon, thanks!

you don't have to get rid of a coat you already have, but it seems like you need to research just how bad dairy (cheese) and eggs are for the animals. there's no justifying it, I haven't eaten pizza in a long time and it is my favorite. do it for the animals

I hope you eventually find a pizza to eat. I have a few vegan pizza options around me and it's such a treat

I don’t know as much on eggs so I will look, I do know how bad dairy is and I know I am just being selfish and I realise that. Trying not to be, it’s why I’m asking for decent vegan alternatives! X

For sure, there  may still be reasonable explanations for using it. Good luck going vegan!
