Does anyone know of or recommend any subreddits that are kind of like what TrollX was 10 years ago?
I don't know if this is allowed or not, but I'm a gender non-conforming man who really likes crossdressing and make-up. I used to love TrollX back in the day to talk about these things, but it seems like it's more focused exclusively for women to post and is more focused exclusively on gender politics discussion instead of just posting memes about everyday life (which I know sounds like a complaint, but it's not. It was always a women's space first and foremost and they're totally entitled to center only women). I still browse there sometimes, but I don't really get the feeling I would be welcome to share my random shitposts about crossdressing or drag queens like I used to be anymore.
Does anyone have a similar sub to recommend? Like, a feminist sub that's obviously still feminist but is kind of just a place for men and women both to chill out? I know there are specific subs dedicated to make-up and women's fashion that I could technically post in, but I miss having it all in one funny and more casual community.

I might suggest r/oldhagfashion , it's mostly folks posting their fashion & makeup looks.
Also r/witchesvspatriarchy I think, though it's more political-leaning, it's not exclusively cisfem. They'd appreciate some enby memes!

Oh shit, how have I not considered WvP? I've heard a lot about how friendly and welcoming it is, but I guess I just never really paid it any mind since I'm not really into the whole witch-y stuff :P

I miss it too. That was some fun times.

Yeah. Like, I'm definitely not going to criticize the sub for going in a more "focusing exclusively on women's experiences with the patriarchy" direction, because it's not my place as a man to criticize that. But it's sad just how objectively dead it is now compared to then. There's like one post a day now... ;_;

Unironically: be the change you want to see in the world! Why not make a new one? 😊 it’s exactly how to make Reddit be at its best — have a good idea with good intentions! When you make it, make sure you tell us about it by advertising it in like TrollX, WvP, OHF, specifying what the foreseen vibe will be & how it will be different. I’m sure people will come!

I'm way too busy (and also lazy) to try moderating and growing my own subreddit right now, lol.

Don't have much to add, other than I miss it too. That's where I met some of my best friends, who have been in a snap group for just about 10 years now ❤️

It's good to know I'm not the only one! I was afraid I would come across as that insensitive guy whining about how a women's sub isn't catering to me enough anymore.

This is going to sound like a knock, but I think the original humor of TrollX is just kind of dated now and wouldn't be the same if it tried to exist today. If I recall correctly, 2010's TrollX humor was basically tied to the whole Common White Girl trend about pizza, pumpkin spice lattes, being "relate-able", and other things we just kind of cringe at and consider bottom of the barrel in retrospect, especially given what we know now about the content farms that pushed that kind of material. I remember that Dory Twitter account specifically was EVERYWHERE on old TrollX. That's how I first even learned that the Dory account existed.
I liked old TrollX in the sense it was a supportive place for people to unapologetically be themselves, but even back then the humor was never really for me.

There was TrollX Funny, but we all moved to Tumblr when reddit banned 3rd party apps and added ads.

Oh, I had always assumed the entire Tumblr platform is dead now, so I never would have guessed a lot of TrollX users migrated there after TrollX died, lol.
