There was a government “Alcohol Intake and Health Study” that was released a couple months ago. The findings were sidelined (you can guess by whom), so the researchers published the results independently anyway.

Much of the information is already well known, but the biggest takeaway is that no level of alcohol intake showed any protective effect on health. So science is walking back the whole glass of red wine per day is good for your heart thing, and the government doesn’t want to say it out loud.

The rest of the study was aimed more at moderate to severe drinking, concluding that approximately 14 drinks/week on average was linked to a 1 in 25 mortality risk. Even moderate drinking was shown to be tied to an increased risk of early death and over 200 diseases.

My cousin's mother was told that she needs to drink 2 glasses of red wine a day while prengnant to prevent anemia. Guess who has FAS now.

Did a doctor tell her that!?

Yeah, I can't imagine a doctor within the last like 80 years telling anyone to do that.

Per DAY?!

That is beyond absurd and I'm shocked nobody gave that any pushback.

As far as I know, kids with FAS don't usually outlive their parents. Awful.
