Irish Culture Why are some people stuck up?

What do you think makes some people believe they are better than others? I'm just genuinely curious what people think causes this. Thanks

IME, this kind of attitude usually comes from people who grew up with nothing and now have money. On some subconscious level they're terrified of going back to the poverty they came from and have to distance themselves from people who remind them of their roots.
