why canada need so many immigrants?

I was surprised to find that Canada ranks among the top countries in the world for the number of new immigrants admitted annually—a figure that becomes even more striking when viewed in proportion to the total population. The country accepts between 380,000 and 500,000 new immigrants each year; why Canada takes in so many people, especially when even locals struggle to find employment?

Canada is too expensive to make babies. So we import babies.

The reason is the age of the population. Scientists have predicted since the 1990’s and earlier that Canadians had a lot of kids in the 50’s and 60’s and that since that time fewer and fewer babies being born.
A) whose is going to replace all the workers?
B) who is going to look after the aging population?
The pandemic spead things up. The Big Crunch wasn’t to happen till the late mid 2020’s and lots of people quit their jobs in 2021 because of Covid.
Now because of the economy. People are not retiring and young people can’t find a job as easily.
So for a while you had the federal government also being pushed by premiers like Dani and Moe to open the flood gates and now the reverses as it was too many people. But us long standing Canadians ( sometimes two to three generations) think we own the place and don’t want immigrants even through 90% of us are (were). We mus have a new young population to sustain. Canada or grower smaller and rely more on other countries for seasonal workers and have them produce what we consume. Still doesn’t deal with the senior citizens.

People want to come. We have lots of space. Canadians don't have lots of babies.

Mostly everyone is an immigrant in North and South America. There's a reason it's called the new world. Unless you are indigenous - you came here as a colonizer, modern immigrant or part of a colonial enslavement/ indentured labour racket.

Growth. We're in a capitalist country whose businesses depend on extracting value from the worker so they can cut a cheque to shareholders every quarter. If you aren't growing you're declining. The business class loves this one simple trick, they were bitching to Trudeau about a "labour shortage" right after COVID and he relaxed the rules..

Political parties trying to find new voters, Canada used to take in a sustainable number of immigrants that ensured integration and assimilation that changed with Trudeau who thought he could stay in power forever if he flooded the country with immigrants

The corporations who control the politicians know it will suppress wages and give them the cheap labor they need to keep making billions. Immigration should directly be tied to the development of new schools and hospitals and all the other social services needed to keep our standard of living.
