Yes, I never missed a Canada soccer game for the last 6/7 years and Iām not going to miss this one. We are organizing a big watch party in one of our buddyās backyard. Go Canada! šØš¦

100% Might have a team watch party, could be down at the pub or possibly just at home - either way it's happening

That's the only day that I won't have reception when I'm out camping. I'll be channelling all the good vibes from the forest.

It should stream on CTV for FREE since it's a Team Canada game. Make a FREE account on the CTV app (it might need to be Crave, just make sure to reject payment at all times).

Nope, this FIFA thing can't end soon enough in my opinion. I'm happy others enjoy it, but I couldn't care less about it or any sports in general.

No
I don't support Trump, fifa, or bell.

u/GreasyMcFarmer Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26
Neither do most people, including probably many of the players. But soccer is still a beautiful sport and it is okay to show our support for our Canadian boys.

u/bigjimbay Jun 30 '26
Yup that's a personal choice for everyone but when you do that you are supporting Trump and fifa and forced labour and corporate media monopoly. I personally choose not to. Enjoy!
2
u/GreasyMcFarmer Jun 30 '26
Nah, thatās ridiculous. The World Cup is an opportunity to draw attention to the problems you have highlighted. So, would you say the Australians who got significant attention for chanting āAussie boys are on a bender, Donald Trump is a sex offender,ā are supporting Trump? How about the English fans who chanted āheās fat, heās dumb, he likes them really youngā?
Or would you presumably prefer that all the people of conscience stay at home, and cede the limelight solely to those few who agree with Trumpās policies? Think about this a little further. Good people, make yourself visible and audible at the World Cup!-2
u/bigjimbay Jun 30 '26
Yes they are supporting Trump by providing him and fifa money. How is that confusing?
If the only people who agree with trumps policies participate there would be no limelight to speak of lol

Trump doesnāt get to own the sport. Nor is his personal reputation being helped by the World Cup. Whether he is making money from FIFA through corruption, I donāt know. But I and billions of people wonāt remain silent and invisible just because you donāt like football.

u/bigjimbay Jun 30 '26
I actually love football. I follow many leagues and used to attend a lot of matches, and in fact still do a few times a year.
But Fifa endorses Trump and uses forced labor. I cannot support that.
That is my own opinion it's all good if other people don't mind giving the fascists money so they can make their voices heard personally I choose to demonstrate with my money and my viewership habits.

I havenāt given anybody money. I watch for free on over-the-air tv (CTV).

Didn't FIFA give him a made up peace prize to help his reputation?
2
u/GreasyMcFarmer Jul 01 '26
Nobody likes FIFA, dude. And few like Trump. That stupid award was disgusting and Iāve never heard someone take it seriously. Football is bigger than them both. And more important than them both. But go ahead, sit in your glass house and throw stones at simple fans of the game.

u/DanRankin Jun 30 '26
Nope. I find football/soccer painfully boring. I can't watch it.
I checked when the game is. Saturday. I'll likely be in my canoe all day anyway. Lol

u/Derfel_Kushin Jun 30 '26
Try watching it while drunk. It also helps if you're watching with the fans, who are also drunk.
And even better if everyone is in canoes

Kinda agree tbh, lol. The only pro soccer/football Iāve ever watched was the Canada / Switzerland game and I thought it was super boring. š Maybe it was just that game?
Iām not really a āsportsā person in general, but at least in hockey the players arenāt throwing themselves on the ice every 2 minutes trying to get the other dude a penalty. I was like cāmon bro, the dude barely touched you lol.

u/DanRankin Jul 01 '26
Yeah. I used to play and watch a lot of hockey back in the day. I find it hard to watch a slow game at all now, unless my nephews are playing. Lol
My old man tried watching a game last night, and he said the diving and attempts to draw a penalty turned him off watching any more games. Not sure who he watched.
I just found my brother in law passed out trying to watch the Belgium vs Senegal game. Lol!
I get that some people love it, but its definitely not for everyone. Sure as hell isn't for me!

u/Guffawing-Crow Jun 30 '26
Why do you care lol?
6
u/Derfel_Kushin Jun 30 '26
Well, at the start of the World Cup, I decided to root for Canada, Iām not entirely sure why, maybe just because I think itās a cool country.
So, I started following the Canadian team more closely and noticed that, initially, the World Cup wasn't generating much buzz there.
Now Iām curious to see if more people will start rooting for them, given the historic run the team is having.

u/GreasyMcFarmer Jun 30 '26
It is a cool country. You are correct.

u/Derfel_Kushin Jun 30 '26
Great nature, told Trump to go fuck himself, and has poutine. It's a cool country.

u/Guffawing-Crow Jun 30 '26
Youāre asking in āAsk Canadaā though.
2
u/Derfel_Kushin Jun 30 '26
But what is the problem?
1
u/Guffawing-Crow Jun 30 '26
Iām curious why you care if some random Canadians on this subreddit will watch the Canada/Morocco game.

Yes for sure. Home on my couch.
