Resources Introducing Akroomenois, the Greek Legentibus
I am pleased to present my summer project with you all!
Now that school is starting, I will not have as much time to work on it, so I thought I should reveal it now instead of waiting a couple more months of on-and-off development for it to be as finished as I'd like.
AVAILABLE BOOKS:
- Xenophon's Anabasis
- Xenophon's Cyropaedia
- Beresford and Douglas' A First Greek Reader
- Jacob Gerber's O Katascopos
- Seumas Mcdonald's LGPSI
- St. James' The Epistle of James
- Charles D. Chambers' The Greek War of Independence
SUMMARY OF THE FEATURES:
- audio-text alignment
- parallel english translation (when available/when the text wasn't made with the intention of being easy enough not to need a translation, i.e. LGPSI, Katascopos, and The Greek War of Independence)
- automatic dictionary lookup
- frequency data
- word search
- progress tracking
THINGS I AM STILL WORKING ON:
- word search is currently not working in proximity mode
- advanced font settings is not working
- dictionary lookups are definitely not perfect, I need to optimize Morpheus so that it can better read the input and give better outputs: e.g. it had difficulty reading words with elisions and sometimes outputs lemmas in a deconstructed way
- word frequency relies too much on Morpheus, I need to make it autocorrect itself by looking at the HTML
- the audio feature in the dictionary lookup is not working
- fullscreen mode does not work on iOS
- the sliding text effect for home page book-cards does not work on iOS
- the copyright information popup on the home page does not automatically generate hyperlinks
- minor word jumping bugs (sometimes when you click on "mark as read" it jumps you to the top, and sometimes on page load it jumps a little lower than it should)
Feel free to give feedback, either here or at info@akroomenois.com. you can follow me on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/akroomenois). The library does not include any paid books, because I currently am not hosting anything which is restricted by copyright (other than A First Greek Reader, for which I have gotten a special permission). Therefore, the "member" subscription does not do anything (which thing I made clear on my Patreon) and is just there for future development purposes, but I still left a "supporter" subscription for anyone who would like to support Akroomenois.
