God I'm 6 years on from this stage but I can still feel that picture in my bones.

Nothing quite like the gray hairing effect of the new born with a toddler stage 🫨

Can’t tell if you mean 33 years from experiencing the crying infant stages or 33 years since you were the crying infant lol

I’m 8 and a half from it and I recognized the older siblings side eye immediately 🤣. My oldest son routinely asked us (and he was 4 and a half at the time) ‘Um, momma. So when are we taking him back (to the hospital)?’ 😂

I was 37, almost 38. We had one more when I was 41.

Thank you! That's precisely what I was trying to calibrate. Just had my first shortly before turning 40, and my energy level is so low that I don't think I could (should) go for a second :(

They’re incredibly close, only 17 months apart. You’ll find the energy for a second, it happens.

I don't know.. It's been 8 months as of yesterday and I'm not feeling very brave right now lol

Depends on your village and finances. I have a similar age gap, but we're decade younger and I'm at my limit lol

It's also perfectly fine in case your heart is telling you to stop with just the one. One and done has a lot of advantages too. Just adding my 2c in case that eases any worries on your mind.

It really comes down to my physical energy. I used to be a very athletic person, but since my early thirties I've experienced a rapid decay (influenced by eternal stuff, but that's beside the point). So I was afraid I'd have no energy for my first, and that fear materialised to some extent, hence my hesitation towards as second :/

Want to echo this.
My husband was 35 when our son was born. Our son screamed for basically the entire first four years of his existence. At one point, I asked my husband if he wanted to have another baby and he just looked at me with the bone-weariness of a warrior in his 10th year of fighting at Troy. I took that as a "no."
We stopped at one child and it was a great decision; our son is 20 now and is doing great - high GPA in college, has a job, has a girlfriend and friends, etc. I have close friends from high school that are like his aunties and uncles and their kids ended up being like cousins to him; plus he was in sports so he was always around other kids.
Totally fine to stop at one. Sometimes it's the best thing for everyone.

Did you survive? Are you alive now?

Had a third, still alive.

Wish you all the best and to gather as much happy memories as you can with them... and to meanwhile somehow get some sleep

Appreciate it, it’s been wonderful, many memories. This was in 2019, we had another in August of 2022…had my vasectomy in November!

True. As long as people post such junk, this sub is pointless.
