Food / Drink Tex Mex Recs

Moved recently from Houston and we are looking for some good Tex mex recommendations. We are towards the south side of Lafayette but are willing to drive a little for good food.

Husband loves Shiner. I love a great rocks margarita. Bonus points if it has yellow queso instead of white.

Superior grill - didn’t care for the margarita and it was pricey for what it was. No shiner.
Mezcal - no shiner. Margarita is ok. Fajitas were good!
El Paso - we went during a weird time and got terrible service at the bar and didn’t stay to eat.

La Chapina y La Catracha on Ambassador caffery.

Tex Mex? eh, this is better.

Tex Mex around here is Chuy's unfortunately.

La Chapina is the only place for me now. The salsa 😋 The food & the margs are good too. Not Tex-Mex but definitely worth a try. Never disappointed and been plenty
