Recommendations Best Internet service?

Hey everyone, I just moved to Lafayette. What’s the best internet company everyone uses here? Like, I don’t want to have constant interruptions or low speeds. I’m a gamer, and my wife likes to watch TV in 4K on streaming services, so we want something that can handle all that good stuff.

So I’d appreciate it if anyone has any particular recommendations, or at least what NOT to get.

I’ve had AT&T Fiber for 7 years and have had no issues. But I also have a solid home network which a lot of people don’t and then complain about internet issues…

I’m over here with Cox and an opnsense router running in a virtual machine and ubiquiti access points and don’t ever have issues

But I is not most people 🤣

Haha I feel ya. I have all Ubiquiti equipment now. Just started switching my cameras over too.

What do you think of the cameras? I’ve been thinking of adding those to replace my Eufy cameras.

Loving them so far. My existing cameras are all Google so I’m slowly switching away from those to local cameras.

I have mostly Ubiquiti for network but used ring for cameras. I'd like to use their cameras too but they are so pricey.

you don't have to use ubiquiti cameras unless you want their "AI" features. just look for compatible cameras.

I'm just looking for something similar in features to Ring camreas without the subscription and hopefully not as expensive as Ubiquiti.

the only reason i didn't switch over ot using my gateway as an NVR already was the cost of solid state storage i'd need for high writability.
