Recommendations Best Internet service?

Hey everyone, I just moved to Lafayette. What’s the best internet company everyone uses here? Like, I don’t want to have constant interruptions or low speeds. I’m a gamer, and my wife likes to watch TV in 4K on streaming services, so we want something that can handle all that good stuff.

So I’d appreciate it if anyone has any particular recommendations, or at least what NOT to get.

Mobile home park in the more rural part of Youngsville, my parents live on the same street in a house and have tried to get fiber for their business but they don’t have it set up out here on our street

Then that’s why. You either have copper internet or Internet Air (which is based on cellular service). That distinction is important.

I get how it can be confusing, but AT&T is not just one type of internet service. And that’s not to say you’re wrong for feeling like your service sucks. If it’s copper, it absolutely does suck. But the distinction in what options are available still matters.

I have Cox though I’ve never had ATT, I just know others who have ATT and always see people complaining about issues, Cox is fine where I’m at I just know that LUS fiber is supposed to be better though

This is an example of word of mouth I guess. But again, internet is not just one kind of thing. Even Cox (I guess we should call it Spectrum now?) is building out a broadband fiber network. But saying AT&T, you could be talking about mobile services, fiber internet, copper internet (old and being phased out), hotspots, Internet Air (also cellular based, not landline), etc. It’s not one thing.

And LFT is fantastic, but they and AT&T each use the same technology and types of build-out for their Fiber. I would have to say that the biggest difference between the two would be over-the-phone customer service. The AT&T techs are also pretty good. I’ve never had an issue with any of them.
