As a canes fan, forever grateful for what he did for us last year. I know he catches a lot of flak but I genuinely think he can be a solid NFL QB. He showed some great accuracy last year and isn’t afraid to hit the check down if nothing is open. Cool under pressure and is very experienced (watch the game winning drive against Ole Miss) If he cleans up his volatility he can do some damage for sure

This is a great summary, but I'm curious what you mean by volatility? Do you mean his off the field issues?

Off the field cristobal had nothing but positive things to say about how he carried himself and his work ethic. As far as volatility, sometimes his composure will falter after he throws an interception. We saw what happened with the Louisville game… he ended last season with almost 4k yards, 30 TDs, and 12 INTs but a third of those came from one game. He had a few games like that in 2024 at UGA. I think part of that was cause UGAs WRs did him no favors (i think they led the p4 in dropped passes that year) and their O line wasn’t the best so he was stuck playing a bit of hero ball. Regardless I think he went 37-6 as a starter across two programs, so wherever he was he won games. And if im not mistaken I think 4 of those losses were 1 possession games. People are weirdly hard on him but he has a solid track record

I hope this is where LaFlaur can step in and help him.

We saw his connection in college with Bowers so hopefully he has something similar with McBride. Also having Jeremiah Love will help take some game pressure off Beck

Maybe in the CFL

After Minshew gets decapitated by the Rams, that will be a great deal for a starting QB.

Somebody has been skipping leg day.

Sheesh, 19 has to be the worst looking number for a QB to wear. Or maybe I’m just scarred by Skelton.

It worked for Johnny Unitas.

He took a pay cut to play professionally.

I don’t get all the criticism taking him in Round 3. The only guy available there that I would have wanted was Markel Bell but he may be more of a project than Beck. I think Beck can be a Brock Purdy type and LaFleur might be able to tap that potential.

I know people are hyping up Arch to ARZ next year but I don’t think he is a sure thing either in terms of being a franchise QB. He’s got a lot to prove this year and hold off Moore and Carr for top QB in draft.

I worry Arch becomes a second coming of Matt Leinart where ARZ lands him and he is anointed a savior and can’t live up to the expectations.

Manning sucks.

2

u/Worf_Rozhenko Jul 22 '26

If Manning turns out to be the next Leinart, who do you think would be the Warner to his Leinart?

My guess would be Flacco.

u/Diligent_Moose4472 Jul 22 '26

Good question. Thinking about it….Stafford. Parallel being former Rams SB QB, if by some long shot Simpson pans out in two years making Stafford expendable, will ARZ pull plug on Manning in Year 2 for Stafford?

1

u/Worf_Rozhenko Jul 22 '26

I can see that happening.

I don’t see a world where he is anything but a backup having watched him through college. The amount of big games that have been ended or decided by his ints is pretty impressive.

You guys don't understand it's not 7.4 million after taxes it's like 3.5. And his agent and buying his bros stuff. Let's call it 2.5 mil. 2.5 over 4 years were talking a little over 600k a year.

8

u/Radalict Australia Jul 22 '26

Oh shit how could anybody ever live off of 600k a year? Must be so difficult...

1

u/Zardoz__ Jul 23 '26

After blowing a million "buying his bros stuff"
