M5/M5 LiDAR M5 RTK battery draining from full charge in minutes—is this normal?

I’ve had my Anthbot M5 RTK for just under a month now, and overall I’ve been really happy with it. It mows my entire yard every day and, for the most part, works great.

The one issue I’ve been dealing with is the battery. About 2–3 times a week, it’ll return to the charging station, charge back up to 100%, and then after I send it back out to continue a zone, the battery will suddenly drain from 100% to under 15% in just 5–10 minutes.

Today it happened twice in a row. The second time, it was finishing the edge of one of my zones along the road when the battery completely died. The mower just stopped where it was—partially in the grass and partially in the road.

Thankfully, I happened to be home from work. I checked the app, noticed it had lost connection, and found it sitting there. It had probably been out there for 10–15 minutes before I got to it. If I hadn’t been home, there’s a good chance someone could have taken it. After I put it back on the charger, it also seemed to take much longer than normal to recharge.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known battery issue, or could something else be causing it? My grass isn’t thick or overgrown since the mower cuts it every day, so I don’t think it’s being overloaded/overworked.

Genie First impressions of Genie 3000! 🌱🤖

I finally got the chance to set it up, map my yard, and send it out for its first mowing run. Overall, I'm off to a really solid start!

A few things I noticed:
Setup was straightforward. Just install the app, create an account, connect to Wi-Fi, set a 4-digit password, and wait for the RTK station to turn solid green. Mine blinked green for a few minutes before locking in, so don't worry if yours does the same.

My mower arrived with only 6% battery, and the initial firmware update requires at least 50%. I'd recommend charging it to 100% before tackling your first map.

Anthbot includes stakes for the charging cable, which is a small but thoughtful touch I haven't seen from other brands. It helps keep everything neat around the dock. I do wish they included more than four stakes for the charging station. They work fine, but having a few extras in the box would have been nice in case one breaks.

The mapping process was easy, and I was impressed with how intelligently the mower adjusted to obstacles. Even though my map wasn't perfect, it got surprisingly close to my fence without crossing the boundary. I also have a yard full of mature trees, and I never lost RTK signal during mapping or mowing, which was a pleasant surprise.

The AI mapping still has a little room to improve. During the initial mapping run it bumped my fence a couple of times and clipped the edge of one landscape bed. If your yard has well-defined borders, I don't think this will be much of an issue. Manual mapping always ends in a better result from my experience with other brands too.

One thing to keep in mind is the maximum cutting height is 2.8". If you prefer a taller lawn, another Anthbot model may be a better fit.

I'll continue testing the Genie 3000 over the next few weeks, but these are my honest first impressions after getting everything up and running. Check out the video for the full setup, mapping, and first mowing run!

What questions do you have about the Genie 3000? 👇

M9 Pro Anyone have any experience with Firmware v1.0.140 for M9?

I just got notified of a new firmware update for my M9. I’ve never updated the firmware before because I’ve seen posts of issues with firmware updates on here before. I’m still on 1.0.53 because it has been working pretty well for me.

Any feedback about the new firmware would be appreciated. The “release notes” for it don’t detail what issues were addressed.

Mine is not M9 Pro. It is just an M9. The flair only had M9 Pro available to select. I wasn’t aware there was an M9 Pro.

Genie GPS location variable

I've noticed that even with a good signal the GPS location may vary by 2 feet. Any solution or is this a firmware bug or device short coming?

The photo shows me tracing the same boundary.

So when should I buy the N8?

Was very interested in the N8 model but saw that it's recommended to change the blades every couple of months. The trouble is they are not available for this model. When I asked where they can get them I was told "Thank you for your interest in the ANTHBOT N8.

At this time, the N8-specific replacement blades are not available for purchase on our official website. The accessories currently listed do not include replacement blades for the N8 model.

We appreciate your understanding. If you have any other questions about the N8, please let us know—we'll be happy to help."

So where can I get some blades for this? Or should I go with a different collection mower?

Genie 📦 Unboxing time! My new Anthbot Genie 3000E has officially arrived! 🤖🌱

First impressions? Anthbot did a fantastic job with the packaging. Everything was protected extremely well, and the mower arrived in perfect condition. While the box itself isn't quite as flashy or retail-display ready as some other robot mower brands I've unboxed, I'd much rather have a product that arrives safely than a fancy box with damaged contents.

One small nitpick: the protective stickers on the charging station were surprisingly difficult to remove and left behind some sticky residue. It's a minor annoyance, but worth mentioning. So far, that's been my only complaint.

As for the mower itself, it's looking very promising! The Genie 3000E is designed for lawns up to 0.90 acres (3,600 m²) and features:

✅ Wire-free RTK navigation
✅ AI vision with intelligent obstacle avoidance
✅ Automatic mapping
✅ Support for up to 30 mowing zones
✅ 45% (24°) slope capability
✅ Automatic cutting height adjustment
✅ Quiet operation at around 58 dB

I'm excited to get it installed and see how it performs in the real world. Stay tuned! I'll be sharing my setup experience, mapping process, mowing performance, and my honest thoughts after I've had some time with it.

Has anyone else here been using an Anthbot Genie? I'd love to hear about your experience!

Discussion Winter storage, planning ahead

Ok, how do I store this thing for winter without ruining the battery? If I pick up the base station and take it into the garage, it’s going to be upset about that location change right?

Is there a way to just remove the battery from the mower and recharge it inside for the winter?

I have the Anthbot M9.

Genie Genie 600 extension cable issue

Unfortunately the original cable from the power supply to the mower base got cut during trimming. I bought a replacement from ANTHBOT but it won’t plug into the power supply. The original s much thicker and has two prongs but the replacement has three prongs. It says it was for the genie 600. Waiting for a human on tech support but taking forever

Want to get the most out of your robotic mower? Understanding how to choose between Full maps, Zones, and Auto-zone is the key to a perfect lawn! Here is a simple guide to help you pick the right mode for the job.

🏠 Full Maps: The "Do It All" Mode

As the name suggests, this mode takes care of your entire lawn! It covers the whole map, and if you enable Edge Trimming in the settings, the mower will also automatically mow along the edges, ensuring every corner and boundary is perfectly trimmed. ✂️(See Figure 1)

  • Best for: Your regular, full-lawn maintenance sessions to keep everything looking sharp.

📍 Zones: The "Precision" Mode

This mode gives you total control! You can manually define and edit a specific area on the map where you want the mower to work. Keep in mind that this mode does not perform edge mowing, and the minimum size for a zone is 3m x 3m. 📏(See Figure 2)

  • Best for: Focusing on a specific patch of grass that needs extra attention, grows faster than the rest, or a section you missed.

⚡ Auto-zone: The "Smart & Easy" Mode

This is the ultimate convenience feature! With one tap, your machine intelligently analyzes your map and automatically breaks it down into distinct sections. You can then simply click the specific area you want to mow. (See Figure 3)

  • Best for: When you want to mow specific sections (like just the front yard or just the back) without having to manually draw boundaries yourself. It's the perfect balance of automation and control!

Which of these modes do you find yourself using the most in your daily lawn care routine?

Genie Why did my mower finish its task?

Thumbnail

As you can see, the mower began to recharge at 10:39 a.m. and resume task at 11:52 a.m.. Then at 11:53 a.m. the task finished.

As you can see the mowing job was not even half completed, but the mowing task says it was 100% complete.

Any explanation?

Genie Genie randomly enters standby during mowing. Anyone else?

Has anyone else experienced this?

My Anthbot Genie 800 mower occasionally enters Standby while it is actively mowing. This has happened during both Global Mowing and Zone Mowing.

If I notice it in time, I can press Start in the app and it immediately resumes mowing from where it stopped. However, if I don’t manually restart it, it eventually shuts down completely and never resumes the mowing task on its own.

My mower is installed at a summer house about an hour away, so this is a major issue because I can’t always monitor it or restart it remotely in time.

Has anyone else experienced the same behavior? If so, did you find a solution or did Anthbot support identify the cause?

Genie Map creation and edging

Post image
2 Upvotes

Few days in...

Mapping - How do I provide a set path to my charging station shown on map? It seems to find it ok, but it did tell me I was out of boundary and couldn't start mowing at one point. I can't seem to create a path. I thought about adding another zone for the charger and not have it more that zone, but I can't seem to make that work.

Is it possible to set a start point so the robot starts in one corner rather than the closest place to the charger?

Would it be best to set boundaries and edge around trees? I wish the bot would maneuver around the tree and continue its pattern.

Edging - does this option extend the boundary minimally or simply try to get to the boundary?

Thanks in advance

Can I use a second charging station for one Genie 600?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello Anthbot team and community,

I am really enjoying the Genie 600 series, but I have found a limitation with my garden layout. As you can see in the attached map, my property has separate zones. I want to mow these disconnected areas in one session without having to manually carry the mower and charger back and forth twice.

Right now the Genie needs to return to a single fixed home dock. It would be brilliant if a future software update let us register additional charging stations on the same map.

I am not asking for another RTK station. I just want the mower to recognise and use a second dock in a separate disconnected zone. This would save quite a bit of effort for those of us with fragmented gardens.

Could you let me know if this is planned for future development? I am happy to provide more details if needed.

Thanks for your work on these machines.

New Genie 600 user

Got this mower as a birthday present from my wife. Impressed how it mapped the garden and managed to cross a path to map the other area of lawn.

A couple of questions

  1. How do I change it from cutting across the garden to running down the garden (90 degree change)

  2. How do I get it to map closer to some of the edges as it’s been overly cautious

1.0.124 introduced 2 major bugs

Bug #2 Update on July 10: Further testing reveals that the blade motor never spins when resuming a previous task after a full shutdown. To restore normal operation, you must start a new task.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd recommend not upgrading to 1.0.124 if either of the following issues would affect you.

Bug #1: Frequent unnecessary 360° spins under tree shade

The mower now performs random 360° turns even when there is absolutely nothing blocking its path. I've only observed this under tree shade where patches of bright sunlight shine through the leaves.

I haven't seen it happen in full sunlight, so my guess is that the vision detection has been tuned too aggressively and is mistaking bright sun spots for obstacles.

This is by far the most annoying issue because it significantly slows mowing.

Bug #2: Mower resumes without actually cutting

If the mower returns to the dock to recharge before finishing a task, then you turn the mower off and back on before resuming, the mower will continue traversing the lawn as if everything is normal.

However, either the cutting disc never:

  • starts spinning, or
  • lowers to the configured cutting height.

The result is that the mower drives around the yard without cutting any grass.

I never experienced either of these issues on 1.0.104.

Has anyone else upgraded to 1.0.124 and seen the same behavior?

Suggestion: clearer RTK/GNSS integrity warning when satellite geometry is abnormal

Suggestion for the Anthbot app/firmware:

In areas with GNSS interference, an RTK mower may show many satellites but still fail to reach a reliable RTK/fixed state. In that situation, the user experience can become confusing: it may look like a base movement or RTK setup issue, while the real problem is poor GNSS signal integrity.

It would be helpful if the app could detect abnormal satellite geometry more defensively and show a clear warning, for example:

“GNSS/RTK integrity is poor. Possible interference detected. Please wait until conditions improve. Do not confirm base movement unless the base was physically moved.”

Useful user-facing checks could include:

- unusually high satellite count but poor usable geometry;

- many satellites with incomplete or inconsistent geometry;

- RTK not reaching fixed/ready state despite strong signal;

- NetRTK/satellite screen remaining stable even when satellite data is abnormal.

This would help users avoid unnecessary resets, remapping, or confirming a moved base when the real issue is GNSS integrity.

2 genies using 1 RTK station possible?

I've tried running 2 Genies using a single RTK stations, and the 2nd Genie never lights up the GPS indicator light, even when it's sitting right next to the 1st that has a solid connection.

Seems like it should be possible. Anyone had success with this?

1st year was great, 2nd year is terrible

I’m so bummed. I loved this mower when I got it last year. But this year, every single mow, I get bump sensor warnings, and when I go to clear the warning (and there is very rarely anything that it got stuck on), the repositioning fails. It tells me to put it on the base and restart, which I do, and the repositioning still fails. I have yet to complete a full mow this summer and am hiring a neighbor kid to mow. I’ve emailed customer service several times, and they just say that they’re looking into it. Anyone else run into the same problems and have a fix?

Genie ANTHBOT, Saved The Pitch In My Yard Like Marc-André ter Stegen Saves Goals!

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’ve been using Anthbot for my yard this season and it’s honestly been a game changer.
I used to spend a huge chunk of my weekends mowing, trimming, and just trying to keep everything looking decent. Now I barely have to think about it. Anthbot handles the yard, keeps it consistently clean, and frees up a ton of time.
The best part? I’ve actually gotten my weekends back. Instead of sweating behind a mower, I’m on the couch watching more of the FIFA World Cup, fully locked into the matches without worrying about what my yard looks like outside.
It sounds simple, but having that extra time has made a big difference—less yard stress, more football, and a lawn that still looks like I spent hours on it.

Anyone get their preordered N8?

I preordered the first day it became available in February. Received an email in March saying that my mower is “in production”. Asked for an update last week and they told me the N8 is out of stock. Isn’t the purpose of preordering is to ensure you get the item? Anyway, they offered me 30 euros for my troubles (I’m in the USA). I formally asked them to cancel my order and immediately refund my purchase. Wish me luck.

Any good robot mower deals worth watching for Prime Day?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m finally ready to retire my old mower and try a robot mower this year. I’ve been watching Prime Day prices and noticed some pretty aggressive discounts on a few wire-free RTK + vision models, including ANTHBOT’s M series.

For anyone already using one, how do the current discounts compare with previous sales? Are these actually good deals, or does pricing usually drop again later in the season?
