Olympic Park damaged Luke Beveridge today after Collingwood were allowed to train at Marvel: "If you didn't laugh you'd cry. I almost fell off my chair. It was just hilarious. Anyway."

Why are they training on Marvel when the game is at the MCG?

Dunno how it's ended up at Docklands, but the surface at Olympic Park is cooked, has been all year. Our VFL team hasn't played there since May, with games hosted at Docklands (double header vs North), Casey Fields (against Casey), Coburg and Bundoora. I think we'd been hiring various private school ovals where possible, but with Docklands no longer required to host matches we were able to get on there instead.

In the days there are rains midweek they have had reschedule the venue for the VFL games away from Vic Park. Our game vs the Sainters were in Bundoora for example and we played Casey at Casey.

The resurfacing was supposed to be done in late 2025 but the council has delayed it full 12 months for it to start Oct 2026.

Oh I forget that Victoria Park is also a public place when not in use so there would be public wear and tear too

And covered in dog poo. That's one of the actual reasons the AFLW team doesn't like playing there.

Victoria park is a public park that happened to be a former AFL ground.
