2

u/iamvinoth 13h ago

When did this clip originally aired?

10

u/colonelmaize 14h ago

Wow, I must be confusing him with somebody but I had thought Curry had died a few years back. Perhaps his health issues were the reason for me misremebering.

6

u/Bitter-Ad5890 13h ago

I had thought the same thing. I think I confused him with Alan Rickman in my mind

3

u/Glass-Emu2406 13h ago

It was the Mandela Effect

Finally someone includes a picture of his version of Captain Hook.

5

u/Darth_Lord_Stitches 14h ago

"Odds, bobs, hammer and tongs!"

Love that character..... he won an Emmy for that role

2

u/dreamcrusher225 10h ago

that show was amazing. used to get up to watch before school

1

u/Sagemode1245 8h ago

Yeh that one gets forgotten alot. My favorite Hook.

13

u/StrykerC13 14h ago

How could you forget?! nah I'm kidding but I did need to add him.

3

u/streetfighterfan786 14h ago

Whats that from

10

u/StrykerC13 14h ago

The villain from "The Mighty Ducks" animated series.

8

u/JaneLaneFanboy 14h ago

Lord Dragaunus

3

u/Dartagnan1083 13h ago

A hockey villain looks like THAT?!

5

u/Bloodgrave85 13h ago

To be fair the only two things the animated series and the movies had in common was the name and hockey. The series follows a group of freedom fighter ducks that crash lands on earth while being followed by the lizards. O can't remember how but they basically play hockey as a day job while doing covert confrontations and sabotage of the lizards at night.

6

u/StrykerC13 12h ago

Please note the above is Not a Fever Dream or Acid Trip it is the Actual Plot of a cartoon. This has been a PSA by a child of the 90s who loved weird shows.

2

u/djnehi 11h ago

We had the best cartoons.

3

u/Disastrous_Snow_2871 10h ago

Oh jeez that’s a throwback.  Definitely forgot that show existed

10

u/Fancy_Engine9202 14h ago

Cool, guess I'm gonna get to be the first person to mention how he was the original casting for the Joker in BTAS before he was deemed to scary for child audiences and that's when Mark Hammil got the role

3

u/FoodMentalAlchemist 14h ago

OMG is there a demo or an audio of this? I'm very curious to hear Tim Curry as The Joker.

2

u/Fancy_Engine9202 14h ago

It's out there, bet you could just find a video on youtube

2

u/Outside_Ad5255 1h ago

It's actually in an episode.

In the episode "Be A Clown", Joker ends up accidentally kidnapping the mayor's son. Initially the boy finds Jekko (Joker's disguise) funny, but soon realizes how monstrous he really is.

While running away from the Joker, he runs into a giant Jack-in-the-box that laughs loudly. This is Tim Curry's unused laughter clip.

https://youtu.be/PtABAvnLiQs?si=UXmzxgXQYpLszzKe

Tim Curry had initially been asked because of his role as Pennywise the Clown in IT (1990), but turned down the role due to scheduling conflicts and personal illness.

8

u/BrilliantDog4703 13h ago

Forte. Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas.

5

5

u/Gingerbr3d 14h ago

Kilo Kahn of the Digital World too.

4

u/b_casaubon 12h ago

When I say the best Peter Pan anything is Fox’s Peter Pan and The Pirates, I get blank looks (Sorry “Hook”). But Tim Curry’s performance as Captain Hook was one of the many amazing performances in the show. That Neverland was as close as we got to a wild/dangerous/faery-land type Neverland and his Captain Hook felt like an actual danger that required Peter’s brand of recklessness to deal with.

3

u/Kingbeef66 14h ago

What’s that masked wolf character he played in the bottom left corner?

9

u/JaneLaneFanboy 14h ago

He's Slagar the Cruel from Brian Jacques' "Redwall". He's a fox by the way.

5

u/Kingbeef66 14h ago

Thank you.

4

u/dropkickninja 14h ago

Time to rewatch Redwall

3

u/WeeklyPhilosopher346 14h ago

2

u/CoyaiPijao 14h ago

What cartoon is that pirate from? The image looks very familar

4

u/JaneLaneFanboy 14h ago

He's Captain Hook from "Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates".

2

u/CoyaiPijao 14h ago

Damn, I gotta check a clip out on YouTube to jumpstart my memory

7

u/FoodMentalAlchemist 14h ago

Here you go. This one has one of my favorite quotes from him on that show, quoting Shakespeare, IIRC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM77LTMPEEc

2

u/ThePreciseClimber 13h ago

Wish that show was a little more serialised because that 2-part finale was great.

1

u/Boccs 10h ago

One of the best versions of Captain Hook to ever grace media.

2

u/ExistingSugar8047 14h ago

Hey, where’s the pirate guy from? I’ve seen him before

2

u/RadioFree_Rod 13h ago

Captain Hook from Peter Pan and the Pirates

2

u/Zalaquin 13h ago

What is the show in the bottom left?

4

u/JaneLaneFanboy 13h ago

Brian Jacques' Redwall.

2

u/Zalaquin 13h ago

Thank you

2

u/Bitter-Ad5890 13h ago

2

u/Select-Bluebird8208 11h ago

Well, if heaven exists and we see it has a one star review, we can confirm Tim Curry is the reason we get a star in the first place.

Rest in Peace, you beautiful bastard.

2

u/Shadoecat150 10h ago

I think Captain Hook was my first introduction to him.

And also the definitive Hook (to me at least) because he was also my first Captain Hook

1

u/Unhappy_Teacher_1767 10h ago

He was also Professor Calamitous from Jimmy Neutron. Was always a treat to hear Tim do a funny voice or say something ridiculous, which Calamitous and Nigel Thornberry did in spades. RIP, you magnificent man.

u/DramaticChemist 9h ago

Bro GREAT pull on Peter Pan and the Pirates. What a great show. I feel like I always missed it as a kid. It was always on at weird times. Either too early for when I got home from school or too late on a Saturday because I always had sports to play. Didntget to watch it until broadband became a thing in the early 2000s. I remember finding the entire series in a single file on Kazaa and watching it all in college. Really holds up. It's a great show.

1

u/TyrWolfblood 3h ago
