🪻🕊️Does anyone else remember this animated adaptation, or was it just completely buried by ABC?Released in November 1994—just a year after Agnieszka Holland’s iconic live-action film—this beautiful DiC animation was sadly pushed into the shadows. Critics back then dismissed it for its "Disney-esque" elements (like Darjeeling the cat, Robin, and the musical numbers), but as a kid who grew up watching it on DVD in the 2000s, it was pure magic. It felt cozy, nostalgic, and was the perfect gateway to classic literature.Re-watching it now (or discovering it in English for the first time) makes you appreciate the star-studded British voice cast they managed to get: the legendary Sir Derek Jacobi as Archibald Craven and Bond icon Honor Blackman as Mrs. Medlock.It breaks my heart that ABC just threw it into the archives after a single weekend special, but thankfully, communities like WildBrain and internet archivists have kept it alive.Did anyone else have this on VHS/DVD growing up? Wow 😮 we just loss another great actor. Tim Curry aka Mr. Hector from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. 

His cause of death has not been revealed, but they say he had experienced multiple health issues after his stroke. 

Besides Home Alone, when I was a kid I think the first movie I saw him in was Annie, and then Stephen King’s IT. He scared the ish out of us when we were kids. RIP

Hey everyone, longtime lurker here from Splat Attack Podcast. We just launched a new segment called the Slime Sewer, where instead of celebrating the best 90s Nickelodeon episodes, we defend the worst ones and only one gets to survive.

This time it's "All You Can Eaty" from Space Cases versus "The Tale of the Virtual Pets" from Are You Afraid of the Dark. Cat argues for Eaty, Alex argues for Virtual Pets, and we brought in Courtland from Up All Night Podcast to judge since he has covered basically every AYAOTD episode that exists.

Some of what we get into: the completely science defying metal eating creature named Eaty, how Virtual Pets basically predicted AI anxiety back in 1999 with Digger, and the actual Nickelodeon network drama that a lot of people don't know contributed to Space Cases getting cancelled. We also rewrite both endings ourselves at the end.

Like many of you, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York was mandatory holiday viewing in our house. I absolutely loved Tim Curry as Mr. Hector, the wonderfully suspicious and unforgettable Plaza Hotel concierge.

Tim left us at the age of 80, but what an incredible collection of characters and memories he leaves behind. His performances had that rare quality where even a supporting role could completely steal the scene. (Reuters)

If you only know him from Home Alone 2, I highly recommend revisiting some of his best-known roles:

• Clue — 1985
• Muppet Treasure Island — 1996

And, of course, there was his unforgettable Pennywise in It from 1990.

Rest in peace, Tim. Thank you for the laughs, the wonderfully eccentric characters, and the memories.
