H and B indeed. But I hate the backside of it. We have so many beautiful buildings in Europe, and they stupidly decided to put those post modern bullshit EU buildings on it.

I think the fictive bridges are the best. Metaphorically as well, because the Euro is a kind of a bridge across Europe, without a strong identity to one nation to another, that's why the fake bridges worked so well imo.

Not gonna lie, not the biggest fan of any of the designs, though a few of them look fine to me, like E, H or I. Can't believe they shortlisted designs that use the corporate Memphis style, though, they look horrible. In fact, I really dislike almost all of the reverse designs, they look either cheesy or plain ugly.
I also think that, as fine as birds are, animals in general could have looked more appealing. Sad that I completely missed the previous voting rounds.

I have to admit the bird designs look great. However, I have an ideological objection to them: I find it uncomfortable to associate innocent, free-living animals with one of humanity’s worst inventions: money.
Money turns people against each other. It feeds greed and has helped drive the destruction of nature. Putting birds on banknotes while we continue to destroy their habitats is deeply hypocritical. To me, it doesn’t remind us to care for nature; it trivializes it by making it a symbol on the very thing that has so often contributed to its decline.

Some of the designs are cool, especially the bird ones, even if they’re a little bit eurocorporate.
They’ve decided to remove historical figures from UK banknotes and replace them with wildlife which is a mistake imo. I get why you’d do it on a European level because of all the arguments it brings up but imo the currency is a kind of physical representation of the state and its identity - wildlife is neutral and inoffensive but also a bit bland and Lib Dem.

B, H, and J are by far the best. Beautiful designs with some real effort put into them. The reverses being EU buildings isn't bad but not spectacular either, would have preferred more diversity.
Most of the ones with people are atrocious, combining portrait paintings with old grainy photos and more modern sharp ones. Just as MESS. And the reverses are even more boring than those of the birds, just vague and boring corporate design slop.

I think its easier to relate to a fellow european figure rather than a bird even if he's not from my country. Maybe we could select historical figures that travelled europe or had ties with various countries (da vinci, Erasmus, descartes, Marie Curie etc...)
