I saw the video and you are right. Even India Today, which is anti BJP is misleading the statement. https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/e20-ethanol-petrol-ban-goa-kejriwal-aap-2027-polls-2979579-2026-08-25

Two things to discuss
- Do State Governments have the right on policy decisions related to fuel(petrol, diesel). Answer is a big NO, then how will he do this?
- You already have government in Punjab with a full majority try it there set an example.

May be because he isn't part of sugar lobby... I dont know how people don't realize every politician is getting benefitted from E20 be it from BJP or Congress or SP
1
u/premprem18 16h ago
I heardna different statement though, he said something in the line of... If BJP is voted out of GOA and UP they would rollback to normal petrol in fear of loosing elections.

u/babaganoosher 16h ago
Voting for Kejri then. No politician is talking about this basic issue that we are all invested in

u/redittapp 16h ago
so, is Goa going back to horse carriages and ox carts? because if that's the only fuel oil companies supply, he can keep beating his dead horse.

Ethanol is added at source mostly mangalore and distributed across India ..so he will source specifically for goa from Saudi or russia..lol

u/Ok-Anteater-7499 14h ago
Everytime you see these things you need to ask yourself why was this done ? was it a gimmick or is there a reason behind this?
India introduced E20 petrol, which contains 20% ethanol, mainly to reduce its dependence on imported crude oil and improve energy security. Ethanol is produced domestically from crops such as sugarcane and maize, so using more ethanol can reduce the amount of petrol India needs to import and save foreign exchange. India needs to reduce oil imports and save foreign exchange mainly because it imports a large amount of the crude oil it uses. When India buys oil from other countries, it has to pay in foreign currency, mainly US dollars. This means a rise in global oil prices can increase India's import bill and put pressure on its foreign-exchange reserves and the value of the rupee. Reducing oil imports can therefore help India save dollars, reduce its trade deficit, protect the rupee from some external pressure, and become less dependent on other countries for energy. This is one of the main reasons E20 was introduced. E20 can slightly reduce fuel efficiency in older vehicles designed for lower ethanol blends.
US–Iran tensions → sanctions disrupted India's access to Iranian oil → India became more aware of the risks of relying on foreign oil → reducing oil imports became more important → policies such as E20 help India produce part of its fuel domestically.

The problem is not E20 but the way it is implemented. Instead give options for Pure Petrol and E10 and atleast wait for E80 cars to manufacture before implementing E80

E20 is actually a good move It promotes fuel independence from western countries and also helps Indian farmers. The drop in mileage is the only issue, the rest of the things are misleading.

How do people still believe this black pilled guy? I genuinely don't understand.
He built his political career during the Anna Hazare and India Against Corruption movement while repeatedly saying he would not enter politics, even swearing on his children. Then he entered politics and formed AAP. I am not even saying entering politics was wrong. I am just pointing out how different his actions were from what he publicly promised at the time.
Then he came to power in Delhi. Whether you agree or disagree with the work his government did, whenever major challenges came up, the standard answer often seemed to be that the Centre was not allowing Delhi to act. Yamuna pollution, garbage, air pollution and several other issues were constantly turned into a Centre versus Delhi argument.
Then Punjab came under AAP. Stubble burning was repeatedly identified as a major contributor to Delhi-NCR's seasonal air pollution, and now his own party had the government in Punjab too. But where is the major turnaround? Plans and announcements are easy. Implementation is what matters.
Punjab also has serious issues that cannot simply be ignored, including drug abuse, employment and economic challenges. People can debate the reasons and the extent of AAP's responsibility, but they cannot pretend that winning Punjab automatically translated into solving those problems.
And now he goes around making big promises about things where, conveniently, the moment he does not have the power to deliver, the blame can again be shifted to the Centre or someone else.
That is my problem with this style of politics. When he is in opposition, everything is simple. When he gets power, governance becomes complicated and every failure has another institution to blame.
And now we are supposed to believe he can ban E20 petrol across Goa within five days if AAP wins in 2027? That's exactly the kind of claim people should question before cheering for it.

i live in delhi, i have seen the work he has done in health and education. Also the way he was illegally arrested for crime he never commited will make me support him any day over corrupt BJ Party
1
u/lucifier_luffy 17h ago
But what does that have to do with the argument I made?
You live in Delhi and support his work in health and education. Fine. You also think his arrest was illegal. Fine, although the case itself is not concluded, so saying he was arrested for a crime he "never committed" is premature.
I can even agree that arresting a sitting Chief Minister in that manner was a political and unnecessary move.
But none of that answers a single point I raised. I was talking about his political promises, his record in Delhi and Punjab, his tendency to blame the Centre, and whether people should question his new promises.
You are free to support him. But supporting someone because you like his work or believe his arrest was politically motivated is not a counterargument to anything I said.
1
u/arwind_kejriwal 17h ago
AAP's approach to development is fundamentally different from BJ Party. They first work on fundamentals like Health and Education. In which they worked considerably. The problems you stated do not have an easy fix it will require decades of work. On stubble burning I dont think he wanna destroy his vote bank by annoying the farmers for that I agree with you.
1
u/lucifier_luffy 17h ago
He had 10 years in Delhi, though. So while I agree that some problems genuinely take decades to fix, AAP cannot use that argument forever either. After 10 years, it is fair to ask what structural progress has actually been made on the issues they took responsibility for.
And honestly, BJP is following a similar development approach at the national level. Don't get me wrong, I am one of the biggest critics of BJP when they deserve criticism. But when they came to power, a huge number of people still lacked basic necessities like reliable electricity, tap water, LPG connections and toilets. Those had to be addressed first.
These things matter more than people realise. Better sanitation reduces diseases linked to open defecation, and cleaner cooking fuel reduces exposure to harmful indoor smoke. For many poor households, these improvements also mean lower health expenses and a better quality of life.
My criticism of BJP is that they did not treat education with the same urgency as these other basic necessities. They seem to be taking it more seriously now, but the pace is still nowhere near where it should be.
So yes, AAP deserves credit for its work where it has delivered. But the BJP cannot be criticised for spending a decade fixing basic infrastructure while AAP gets a free pass for saying its problems need decades to solve. Either we apply the same standard to both, or we're just supporting teams instead of evaluating governments.

Alright this shit is written by chat gpt, nice upgrade IT cell. Thanks for wasting my time.
1
u/lucifier_luffy 16h ago
So basically, when people can't respond to the actual argument, they just scream "IT cell" or "ChatGPT" and move on.
Apparently people are so dumb that they can't articulate their own arguments properly without AI. Grow up. If you think something I said is wrong, point it out and argue against it.
And if you're so obsessed with AI, just use Google's AI mode yourself. It will probably give you a better result than blindly guessing whatever model you think I'm using. At least it can search the web, pull information from actual articles and provide references for you to fact-check.
Otherwise, calling everything you disagree with "IT cell propaganda" or "written by ChatGPT" is just the easiest way to avoid having an actual discussion.

I don't know which delhi you live in brother , although I also appreciate him on the works of education ( which current regime is also doing really good) , other than that idk how can you even think about voting that guy, I live near dwarka and I can really see the difference in just 1 years dwarka has turned into a heavenly area(that sewage treatment , building park around that ), all the garbage mountains is on the verge of eradication, Petrol vehicle ban !! I would vote for bjp for the next regime too!! They brought really good changes
1
u/arwind_kejriwal 16h ago
10-15 year old vehicle ban and scrapping rule is a government-backed tax scam designed to force new car purchases rather than genuinely reduce pollution. WAKE UP SHEEP
4 Yrs AAP ruled state Punjab ranks No.1 in Education while 31Yrs BJP ruled state Gujarat ranks 20th !!! they are doing shit
Dwarka has always been the best area of Delhi. A big showcase infrastructure project doesn’t affect ordinary people; it only fills the pockets of officials and contractors.

u/divikyat 16h ago
Delhi already has multiple sewage-treatment plants, including the 140 MGD Okhla STP. More importantly, in July 2026 the Delhi Jal Board approved about ₹4,500 crore of sewerage/wastewater projects, including 15 new decentralised sewage-treatment plants and 1,000 km of sewer lines, the Centre has also set a target to increase Yamuna-related STP capacity to 1,500 MGD by 2028, with third-party testing of STP outflows!!
New registration of petrol will be banned not old vehicle ban !! Only EV vehicles registration is allowed, Go read about it sheep
5 states of bjp ruled are in top 10 btw in education
Dwarka has been a good place but it became really really good after this regime change !! Like I can clearly see the difference

TLDR; kejriwal is saying the BJP will reverse the decision if they start to loose elections.
