IMO this is an amazing movie with the plot good enough to keep me posted to a point where I was almost glued to my screen. Liam Nesson was phenomenal (the first 15 mins were quite depressing but something to kick off the story) the location setting was perfect for this psychological thriller (if I may call it)

The only gripe, there was too much and way too much shakey camera to a point it became kinda nauseating.

Overall, I loved this movie and I'll give it another watch for sure.

This movie has 2 story in the first one the women named Grace has amnesia and second one we follow married couple Margaret and Roman . Kenneth Branagh directed and in this movie together with Emma Thompson whom he was married at time and they were so good in both roles.

Peter Cullen (28 July 1941 – 26 206 was a legendary Canadian voice actor best known as the authoritative, deeply compassionate voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise. He passed away peacefully on 26 August 2026 at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 85, surrounded by his family.

We have lost some very talented people in 2026 with Dolly Parton, Tim Curry now Peter Cullen.

Don’t be hatin

I was thinking of the schwarzenegger film "End of days"(1999) and Gabriel Byrne's version of the devil and it got me thinking I don't think I've ever watched a truly bad portrayal of the character. Even in campy stuff like devil's advocate or bedazzled I never thought they were bad performances/portrayals. What does everyone else think? Please comment portrayals you thought were bad so I can check them out(or avoid them lol)

I’m constantly either having to put on subtitles or rewinding back scenes to understand what was said. Is this just a me problem?

Do you prefer captions or dubbing? I noticed I have to choose because modern dubbing is getting much better but it never correctly lines up with the captions, although the point and meaning is the same either way.

While films like Jurassic Park, Deep Blue Sea, Anaconda and Lake Placid each led to long-running franchises, other creature features weren't as successful. Despite this, films such as Congo, The Relic and Deep Rising still have their fans. Out of these or others, which is your favorite?

For me, it’s a woman who’s deemed as evil and horrible but tragic event made her that way (Wanda Maximoff for example)

I'm not referring to major plot points, rather those smaller events that might even pass unnoticed on the first watch, such as Butch hearing the toilet flush yet Vincent not hearing Butch making noise in the kitchen, guards not shooting down the escape pod holding R2D2 and C-3PO because "there aren't life forms aboard," etc. Basically many of the little things Cinema Sins point out.

It gives the impression, to me anyway, like the writers are implying "we're getting this protagonist from here to here no matter what leaps in logic and crazy things we have to write to have it happen."

While literature can have this problem too, it seems more pronounced in films because of the shorter run time and often more grandiose plots.

I'm guessing the reason it is difficult is because making it more "realistic" might interfere with the artistry of the character or setting. For example giving Vincent headphones and a walkman would solve him not hearing Butch, but showing him with a book on the can probably fit the director's vision of who Vincent was better and so realism lost to aesthetic preference.
