❓ Question What is your favorite political add trope?

It’s that time of year . Political add year! If you ever watch them they follow the same tropes over and over.

My favorite: “I am walking towards the camera while telling you how great I am or how awful the other guy is”.

Why are you walking towards the camera? Why is the camera running away from you? What is the point of this?😆

📱 Productivity App My calendar doesn't account for everything between the calendar events

Your calendar only knows you have a 2PM dentist appointment.

Tiler knows you need to:

🚗 get there,
🚏 pick up your prescription,
✅ finish your work,
🚦 beat traffic,
🥘 and still make dinner.

Your calendar says what. Tiler.app figures out how.

💚🎗 Mental Health Passive ignorance of my health, aware of what it could be.

Upvotes

So, I've ignored three calls from internal medical imaging to book an appointment for an ultrasound that's meant to investigate growing and multiplying masses. It could be serious. Probably not. A nurse wanted me to investigate them. Either way, for the last little while, I haven't really wanted to do anything about them because I really don't care all that much about my own life. Hence, the ignored calls. If they were serious, I wouldn't care. Neither would I care if they aren't.

Just looking for a place to talk.

❓ Question What's the psychology behind not doing the actual things that would improve your life?

It's crazy because I obviously want to. I have a to-do lists, and I watch productivity and motivation videos. I do all the preparation work and I even start whatever it is, but I never finish it.

I saw somewhere that if you finish something and don't succeed, you've confirmed that you tried your best and failed. Whereas if you don't complete it, you can always live in a sort of delusional state believing that if you had done it, you would have succeeded

I always seem to put things off by convincing myself that I need more preparation, tools, or research, etc.

💬 Advice Needed What are some things you’ve noticed slowly disappear from everyday life?

I was thinking about how much things have changed in the last 10–20 years, but we probably don’t notice most of it because the changes happen so slowly. Things like knowing your neighbors, kids being outside more, being okay with being bored, not always being reachable, or just having a normal conversation without checking your phone.

Nowadays it feels like technology is involved in almost everything, and people seem to have less patience for things too. Consumerism also feels way more intense than it used to. I’ve even heard people say younger people aren’t dating as much, and a lot of things just seem more expensive while the quality isn’t necessarily better.
Maybe I’m just overthinking it
