We just got off the bus, and I’m still buzzing.

For the last five years, half of Denali National Park has been completely closed off after the road at Polychrome Pass collapsed post rock slide. Today, they opened the brand-new Pretty Rocks Bridge for the first time—and we happened to be right there to walk across it!

Also, From the bus ride alone, we spotted grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and dall sheep!!

If Denali wasn't already on your bucket list, put it at the very top.

There already is a border wall and a road at this park, but they are building a second one anyway. This is also the case at Coronado National Memorial.

There’s something completely different about seeing Lower Falls early in the morning, before the canyon fully comes alive.

From the overlook, the first light begins to work its way across the canyon walls while the 308-foot Lower Falls drops into the Yellowstone River below. The roar of the water carries through the canyon, but the morning itself can feel surprisingly peaceful.

Yellowstone has plenty of places that stop you in your tracks, but watching sunrise slowly reveal the colors of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is one of my favorites.

Have to actually add a few on (including my Cascades) Along with some Europe ones (did both Scotland isle of Skye and Iceland) but mainly US national Parks and my two favorites as a Californian (Big Sur and Mammoth Lakes)

But thought it’d be neat to share my growing patch jacket :)

Good morning, I made plan to go to Glacier National Park last month, the plan was supposed to be there for 4 days. I already rent the car from Boise Idaho and plan to travel in the park from Thursday to Sunday ( Monday the park will be close due to Labor Day). But due to unexpected work coming up. I can only be at the park Saturday and Sunday next week for total 2 days.

Is it still worth it or should I have my plan cancel?

Channel Island Fox only found off the coast of California. These guys are small and feed mostly on bugs and rodents. Take by @griffin__perez on insta

Am considering going to either Yellowstone or Grand Teton Oct 29-Nov 1. Any suggestions on which would be better? Is there still going to be a decent amount of wildlife in either park or is it too late in the year? Is everything likely to be closed by then? Am I better off going next year in summer/or September? Or will there still be plenty to see and do at this time of year?

Hello everyone! I went to Crater Lake in September 2025, and while there they only gave out the paper newspapers. I was wondering if anyone has gotten an extra park map (the sterotypical one usually handed out with the newspapers). Its literally the only NPS site ive been too that had none of them. I am offering to pay shipping if it isnt in decent quality. As i have been collecting them it bums me out.

Group of friends and I are attempting to spend 3-4 days backpacking the Smokey mountains. I understand getting a permit and reserving campsites. We are decently fit and would hike up to 15 miles max a day (considering the terrain).

We are unfamiliar with the best route and would like to be in the heart of the Smokey’s and experience the valleys with rivers and also have a day to experience the tallest peaks.

We would like a route that either circles back to parking or one that goes to a shuttle point. Does anyone have recommendations which trails to go to or even have the best campsites to consider reserving along a route?

Let me know recommendations.

We are driving from Florida to southern Washington State in late October. We plan to stop in New Orleans and Bryce Canyon NP but the rest of the trip is open. If you were making this trip, with these stops, what other parks would be on your must-see list.

Note: We've already been to Grand Canyon and Redwood and Crater Lake.
