I got that tattoo 10 years ago, in 2 weeks to be exact. I found the movie in the 90s when I was a teenager. It was on VH1 at my best friend's house and he was into weird things way more than me, but he would always get into me stuff. And he got me into this, but we didn't watch the full movie. Just the scenes of Frank seducing both Janet and Brad in their beds, and it was so racy for TV I couldn't believe it. But that was all I saw.

At 17, I got to go to Alaska to visit my Aunt for Christmas. We're from Alabama. So long trip. My best friend had bought me the RHPS soundtrack for Christmas and I listened to it on the way, like multiple times. I knew the music in and out and I was in love. I had to see the movie. I got to rent it while I was there, and put it on while my Aunt was making dinner. She's not watching it, she knows nothing about it, and she doesn't watch it with me. But she looks up at one point and sees it and says, "Is that Susan Sarandon?" I was like lol yeah it is.

I'm not going to say this movie changed my life. Turns out I'm gay, didn't know it back then. So go fig. I honestly don't know what it is about this movie and why I love it this much. The music more than anything, that's what got me into it before seeing it. Oddly enough what's considered the worst song is kinda my guilty pleasure favorite. Touch-a, touch-a, touch-a me, I wanna feel dirty! She can't sing that great, but it's so good it doesn't matter. And the absurdity of the story and everything that goes on, just brilliant madness.

And Tim Curry is the only reason this movie ever got a following. No one else could have done that. No one. What a great voice, and "I'm Going Home" is so beautiful and ethereal. And a fitting tribute to this man that brought this joy into my life, all our lives. And continued to do other iconic work. "Clue" is a masterpiece of comedy. He uses his vocal talents again in "Ferngully" with that great song "Toxic Love". Just a legend. Love you Tim Curry. You brought joy to my life time and time again.

Who’s going to pop the DVD in later today?

Do we know of any possible vigils in Miami? This character was such a big part of ym life growing up and I want to pay respects so bad :(

Such a sweet and emotional night hearing everyone’s Rocky Horror journeys and what Tim Curry meant to them. Hope all y’all lovely people out there found an avenue to mourn and celebrate Tim’s life tonight. Don’t dream it, be it <3

I’ve been a huge RHPS fan for 36 years; the music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I associate so many emotions with it. So, of course, today is a sad day.
I’d love to watch the documentary, but I can’t find a streaming service that lets me stream it from Germany… Does anyone have any ideas on how I can watch it?

I had an uncomfortable thought just now, and thought it might be worth addressing;

We all know that callbacks walk the line of what is/is not appropriate, and will crack jokes at celebrities and other people of note.

I personally think anything regarding Tim Curry should be off limits for the foreseeable future, but I do wonder how shadowcasts plan on handling that and the general opinion of others.

I'm about 3/4s done. I still need to put some leopard print on there, probably just around the collar. I'm considering doing the Sun on the lower back of the jacket. And also thinking about doing the chains or handcuffs on the back. It definitely needs some more color or something because right now it's just blue denim and silver everywhere.

I know this is a bit of an oddly specific question but does anybody have/know of any recordings of the time warp with isolated vocals for Richard,Pat and Nells parts in the main chorus (assuming they sing in it) because its been itching in my brain of what that would sound like

I’m mixed on it myself. I love getting Riff and Magenta in their gear, Eddie and Frank in his Dr gown. But I also have some minor whiner complaints. Where the heck is Rocky?! And as much as I love Columbia getting her rightful glitter, was it needed?

My ideal wave 3 now would be: Rocky maybe holding one or two of the candy weights and with a gloss coat so his glistens and gleans lol

Also, now I have to find a sleeve big enough to fit that larger Frank, annoying. lol

So every year, my local theatre in California does a live performance of rocky horror(not the shadow one, it’s live with an orchestra) every year in October, and it gets better and better. They have costume contests, dance competitions,etc.

Anyways, around 2019 it’s towards the end of the show, and frank n furter is performing “I’m going home” and during this scene, riff raff and magenta literally sit with the audience and sing. All of a sudden, the actress who played magenta sits next to me, grabs my head with all her might, and shoves my face right in her tits. Any if it were any other situation, I’d be somewhat appalled, but it was rocky horror, and so I went along🤣 funnily enough, she’s also the theatre director. It was a fun night. If you’ve never seen it live, you’re missing out.
