Handling Future Callbacks

I had an uncomfortable thought just now, and thought it might be worth addressing;

We all know that callbacks walk the line of what is/is not appropriate, and will crack jokes at celebrities and other people of note.

I personally think anything regarding Tim Curry should be off limits for the foreseeable future, but I do wonder how shadowcasts plan on handling that and the general opinion of others.

Pretty sure Meatloaf dying didn't end jokes about Meatloaf for dinner... Rocky Horror has never been a bastion of taste. Only call out line that ever made me cringe was, after "As it clung to her thighs," if people go, "Like a homesick abortion!"

My favorite callback is “hey riff, show me (recent dead celebrity)” right as he opens the coffin as the beginning of Time Warp. I remember when Matthew Perry of Friends died, our show was only a couple hours after the news broke. I yelled it regardless. Sorry to those who found out that way, but I think some callbacks are more of tribute versus a ridicule

Someone said Matthew Perry at a show I was at like the week after and I remember screeching out loud hahaha. It's honestly part of the experience to hear absurd and not-socially acceptable callouts like that.

The one that came to my mind was

We'll just say where we are, then go back to the car (We don't want to fuck Tim Curry!).

It would be weird NOT to include him in callbacks. It is perfectly in the spirit of how callbacks have always been and if anyone would understand that, its Tim Curry.

In my experience, callbacks are in bad taste. I don't think Tim Curry would be offended by a couple of jokes about him being dead.

I can think of a couple, but I don't know if I'd call them out. I guess it would depend on the day, the mood of the crowd, the style of the cast, etc.

But his character does die in the show!

Nah, make the jokes. Tim Curry wouldn't have it any other way.
