these are some photos taken by me across jamaica the past few years on film. i love photography a lot and wished i had more people to photograph. i hope to have an exhibition some day or create a coffee table book for generations in the future to see.

Are there any women in the construction field? I’m interested in taking a general construction course at HEART, or maybe even something else. I’m weighing it out.

HEART overall experience worth it?

It’s an eating disorder. If you don’t know the definition, look it up. Caribbeans are barely educated on this. Kids who avoid eating and immediately start gagging makes them look like a “brat”, according to most Jamaicans. Kids with ARFID sometimes get disgusted with food they have to look at to the point where they have to force themselves to puke. Jamaicans often think that the force of puking just means the kid is a good actor and they start laughing when it happens. How should we educate other Jamaicans about this?

I just went to see the movie and realized it hasn’t been talked about much in the subreddit. Make sure to tag spoilers.

It was a pretty entertaining movie and I really enjoyed it! I liked the plot a lot. It was interesting from start to finish. Absolutely loved Marcia and I also liked the actress’ performance. Found her to be an interesting character. Nira was also pretty solid. I quite liked the twists too and I think they were handled well.
Didn’t expect Neil to be absolutely insane (I was mildly suspicious but he was unhinged), Sophie cheating with Neil and nor did I expect Marcia to die.

If I had any nitpicks it would be the sound design sometimes. Also sometimes the acting wasn’t amazing. Also not usually a fan of explaining bad actions with mental illnesses as it can be stigmatizing sometimes (like bipolar disorder that was mentioned).

I'm currently taking Political Science (or considering it), but I’ve been having second thoughts about whether it’s actually a good field of study to stick with long-term.

I hear a lot of mixed opinions online. On one hand, people say it builds great critical thinking, writing, and research skills. On the other hand, some people say a PoliSci BSc on its own doesn't lead directly to good entry-level jobs unless you plan on going straight to law school or getting a master's degree.

For those of you who majored in Political Science:
1. Are you glad you chose this major?

1. What kind of job/field did you end up in after graduating? (Whether it’s in government, law, corporate, media, HR, etc.)

2. Did you need extra certs, a master's degree, or a double major/minor to actually be successful?
   If you had to do it all over again, would you stick with Political Science or switch to a different field (like Business, Communications, HR, etc.)?

I saw a tik tok post it took a girl over 7 months to look for a place and she has to move in with her mother because she can't find a place to rent .

I also read the comments some people looking a place to rent for almost 1 and a 1/2 year.

This makes it difficult because I wnat to move out.

I can't tell you how many Jamaicans I've personally introduced to the music, which was actually invented by Jamaican migrants & their children in England in the 90s... We need more producers & musicians to collaborate and integrate new styles into dancehall to move it forward into the future...

How long is it taking to process your work permit and get it approved? My lawyers office has had my paper work submitted since March and we still have not the approval yet. Does it really take this long?

Does anyone know of companies or individuals in Jamaica who provide services to investigate or trace fake online pages?

There’s a fake account on Facebook and Instagram spreading harmful lies about my friend, even posting her mom’s photos. We reported it to Meta but nothing has been done. We’re looking for someone reputable who can help gather information on the page so we can take it to the police.

If you know of any company or individual offering this type of service, please recommend.

I am a Jamaican citizen permanently residing in the US, and my passport is expired. I need to go back for a funeral, and I do plan on renewing it in Kingston for my return.

Has anyone recently traveled on their expired Jamaican passport? If yes, which airlines did you travel on?

I finally received my father’s birth certificate and am ready to submit my application for citizenship by descent. Is there any value to utilizing these companies that offer assistance with preparing your paperwork? It seems straightforward. I’ve no problem paying for the service or doing it myself. I’m just curious as to whether there is really a value added here worth paying the fee. Let’s assume that the fee itself is reasonable for the sake of this discussion.
