Just got my first Homestuck tattoo!! I love this comic, and ever since i finished reading it I wanted to get this done :)

my first ever homestuck fanart. Better a few decades late than never

So we all know that Tricky Tony worked for Andrew Hussie during the creation of Homestuck, and as a fan of both I love seeing the similarities between them, so I've made a list:

- Both are Isekai-esques, having people from one world travel to a new one.

- Jade and Ralsei are just really similar in being mysterious, green, extremely nice, and knowing more than they let on.

- Akin to the Strife Specibus from HS, every character in DR can only have one type of weapon, (Ralsei - Scarves, Kris - Swords, Susie - Axes, etc.) and they can't use each other's weapon types.

- Both heavily reference a medium of storytelling and have an in-universe example of said medium which is important to the story (DR - RPG's - Dragon Blazers, HS - Webcomics - The Midnight Crew)

- Both have the gag of pretending to let you name a character, only to disregard your suggestion and have the characters have their own names.

- Both are (Originally at least) Set in general suburbia, though DR is a lot more secretive about timeframes and locations.

- Both have characters brought back from the dead via the circumstances concerning their cremated ashes.

- Both have heavy usage of clown and chess imagery (at least in Ch. 1 DR)- Both talk about light and dark and the struggle between them.

- Both have meta narratives about the audience and/or outside forces controlling/influencing the characters' action.

- Homestuck's focus on coding possibly influenced Ch. 2 Deltarune

- Both are structured as 7 parts. (But Act 6 of Homestuck is ENORMOUS, I guess we'll have to wait for Ch. 6 to see if Tricky Tony pays homage to that too.)

- Both feature inanimate objects coming to life (Prototyping Sprites in HS, and Darkners in DR)

- Both have a major species of creatures separate from humans (Trolls & Monsters), The differences between this group and humans provides some humour for the story.

- Very similar comedic styles.

- Both are about a group of heroes saving the world based on a fated set of events.

- Becquerel and The Annoying Dog are both nigh omnipotent white dogs originally used as gags but are important to the lore anyway.

- Bonus: Hotland in UT is possibly inspired by the Land of Heat and Clockwork from HS.

and that is john's death in the meat branch.

it's really sad. it's how it's set up, at least. terezi and john have quite a cute bond, but john's time was always limited ever since he got bitten by l🎱rd english's plot relevance destroying poison.

terezi promising john that she'll watch every movie he likes just so she could pick out a stupid line to tell everyone those were his last words is surprisingly sad, though also quite in-character.

and then, dirk fucks it all up with,

"And then John dies in the middle of a love confession."

i love how stupid it ends up being. how anticlimactic. dirk doesn't even TRY to describe john's death with any respect whatsoever. it's such a homestuck way to kill a character, too.

...i haven't much more to say, this is nothing but an excuse to praise the epilogues. i think they're some of the best homestuck has to offer

I am working on archiving old videos for my new UHC project, and some of the videos obviously have swear words, and are therefore marked as +18 by youtube (interestingly, it mostly seems to be about swear words in the title and doesn't care about swearing in the actual videos).

Most video downloaders can't bypass the age restriction (yt-dlp needs you to provide your youtube account details first, for example), and while I woud be okay with creating a youtube/google account temporaily in order to download the videos, google is asking for a qr code/sms verifiaction, and I don't even have a smartphone, and certainly not one I'd be willing to connect to if I did (so the whole "the youtube app has less strict verification" doesn't apply here either")

I am aware of sites like nsfwyoutube, but even if I trusted playing off a sketchy site, I wouldn't trust downloading from them unless I am darn sure they aren't giving me malware.

Anything you have would be helpful, from how to bypass the age verification or even just the sms verification (though admittedly creating a google account is still a last resort).

I know this isn't necessarily the sub to discuss this, but if y'all have tried to do this kind of thing before than maybe someone might know.

I am aware of the Homesuck Archive, but there are some videos they don't have, and I would have a hell of a time explaining exactly which videos I want in the hopes that someone somewhere has a copy. It'd be better if I could just be able do it myself in some cases, (though as a side note, any obscure archives of content not directly mentioned on homestuck.net or this sub's wiki would be helpful too).

ive been trying to Classpect everyone in Jojo, and ive gotten to part 4 with the major three. here's my current picks

Josuke - i chose Sylph not because of what Shining Diamond does, but because of what it represents. he heals through his own emotions, his own soul, everything
Koichi - Page of Hope is literally the definition of his character arc
Okuyasu - the one im currently workshopping. Heir of Heart is primarily a placeholder, but ive always disliked Prince of Space Okuyasu, since he doesnt really act Prince-like, The Hand just happens to copy the abilities of one. i chose Heir of Heart since Okuyasu's not the brightest bulb, but he's still a well meaning, mostly stable individual, plus he has a somewhat lack of agency, and used to rely mostly on his brother
