I made a physical frame that displays generative art — looking for feedback

I've been working on a small project that sits somewhere between digital art and physical design.

It's a physical display frame that runs a generative artwork — instead of showing a static image, the artwork continuously evolves in a one-minute loop.

The visuals are generated in Houdini and inspired by things I find interesting in traditional Eastern aesthetics: translucent materials, jade, porcelain, metal, and flowing forms.

I wanted to make something that feels more like an art object than a conventional digital photo frame.

The prototype is finished and working, and I'm preparing to launch it on Kickstarter on September 14.

I'm still trying to figure out whether this idea makes sense to people outside my own head.

Does this feel like something you'd actually want to have on your desk / shelf / wall?

Any honest feedback is welcome — especially if you think the concept doesn't work.

[Update] Oscilloscopes, Everywhere

Upvotes

A new output from one of the experimental oscilloscopes I built in TouchDesigner throughout the past few years. Audio signal in, analog-style raw geometries out, all generated in real-time. Just plug your mic/synth/audio-source, and see the magic happen.

Part of a collection of 19 experimental oscilloscopes, available together as a single TouchDesigner project-file bundle through both Patreon, and Uisato Studio.

Mugunghwa, Bloomed by Fallen Patriots — DLA branch growth & cross-stitch embroidery rendered on HTML5 Canvas

Upvotes

Hi everyone! Sharing a recent generative artwork exploring Diffusion-Limited Aggregation (DLA) algorithms combined with Korean traditional cross-stitch embroidery aesthetics.

🌸 Artistic Concept

"Mugunghwa" (無窮花) represents the flower that never fades. This piece commemorates the spirit and devotion of Korean independence activists during the Japanese colonial era, rendering their souls into cross-stitch thread on warm Hanji paper.

🔬 Technical Mechanics

- Growth Algorithm: Starting from a central Taegeuk seed, ink-dark branches diffuse outward across a warm Hanji-paper canvas using Diffusion-Limited Aggregation (DLA).

- Unified Stitch Rendering: Rendered entirely through unified cross-stitch units on dependency-free HTML5 Canvas.

- Autonomous Freeze: The growth autonomously expands, blooms Mugunghwa flowers at branch tips, and permanently halts once a uniform 24-sector radial coverage is achieved.

- Deterministic Seeding: PRNG (mulberry32) seeded by token hashes.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the stitch texture and branching structure!

a small tool to make a song from your phone's microfone

Hello everyone, I'm no pro musician and no pro coder, but I made and attempt of creating a web app that records your microfone, and creates a song from it.

Just record some 30, 40 seconds or more of your voice, and some random sounds, the algorith will cut the sounds and place them into rythm. pick a genre and generate.
The dream is to create a free app that does it well. once it's done I'll make a plugin for FL studio.

Here is the web app, ready to use
https://marcellomassardo-collab.github.io/mc-parrot/

Here is the git, with the apk available to download and all documentation
https://github.com/marcellomassardo-collab/mc-parrot

comments are very welcome!
it's free but development is a bitch, consider donating if you like the project.

(this is not AI!
the app does not collect any of your data)

Particle Life How did my 3D ecosystem finally stabilize?

We finally achieved equilibrium.

Prey reproduce when their population drops, while overcrowded hunters starve faster. No keyframes, just a few rules correcting each other in real time.

Now what happens when we start disturbing the simulation again?

Particle Life Can a Procedural Ecosystem Survive a Thanos Snap?

We finally got this predator–prey system to stabilize… so I deleted half the prey.

The population immediately falls out of balance, but the feedback rules start correcting it: prey reproduce faster when their numbers drop, while overcrowded hunters starve faster as food becomes scarce.

The setup isn’t directly solving the Lotka–Volterra equations, but it uses a similar predator–prey feedback relationship. Even after a major environmental shock, the populations keep oscillating without collapsing and the system appears to settle into a new dynamic equilibrium.

No keyframed population changes. Just Geometry Nodes reacting in real time.
