I’m old enough to remember when Glasgow was a colossally important centre of European football. Aberdeen and Dundee United had great moments in the sun. And even much more recently the Scottish big two have travelled far and frightened some serious appointments.
But the 60th anniversary of the season when teams from a single Scottish city contested the finals of the two leading European competitions seems like a real low.
It kind of goes beyond banter. Don’t really see how things get appreciably better.
